AEW star and pro wrestling veteran Rocky Romero spoke with Fightful on a number of topics, including the inaugural Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling shows and how he believes they will be a strong partner for NJPW.
Romero said, “It was awesome. I thought both nights were really, really good. I thought Scott has put together not only a great in-ring product and talent wise and talent pool, but also backstage. He’s got a great set of people that he’s working with. I thought it looked amazing and I think he’ll be a pretty strong partner for New Japan as well, especially in America and Canada. We’ve been talking to Scott about a lot of cool projects that we might be able to do next year.”
On Scott D’Amore:
“Like you said, it’s cool to see a Canadian, an actual Canadian product. It’s been so long since there’s been a real strong Canadian product to come out of Canada that has primarily Canadian talent. Then also he’s a guy who I’ve seen that does a lot of the things that I do and create relationships with other companies and be very pro that. So he’s always been a breeze to work with and he’s a good guy. I wish him nothing but success and I think that there’s definitely some space for New Japan Strong and New Japan to work with him.”
