Trevor Lee, also known as Cameron Grimes, has returned to the indie wrestling world following his exit from WWE.
Grimes rose to prominence in PWG and TNA Wrestling as Trevor Lee before joining WWE and working in NXT. In 2019, he had a notable feud with LA Knight and Ted DiBiase, who reclaimed the Million Dollar Championship.
Grimes won the North American Championship and was promoted to the main roster as part of the 2023 draft. Grimes was added to the SmackDown roster. Grimes’ last WWE match was on April 12th, when he lost to Bron Breakker.
Grimes left the firm in March, along with Von Wagner, Xyon Quinn, Veer, Sanga, Jinder Mahal, and Xia Li. Following his dismissal, Grimes revealed in an interview with Busted Open Radio that he was informed by a WWE executive days before his release that he would always have a position with the company.
NewPhotographyStudios posted a photo of Grimes with Australia’s Integrity Wrestling Heavyweight Championship.
Grimes revealed on Twitter that he had won his first title since his departure.
It took 10000 miles but I’ve won my first championship post WWE.
