The main event of Friday night’s episode of WWE SmackDown saw the Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) defeat then-WWE Tag Team Champions The Bloodline (“The Right Hand Man” Tama Tonga and “The Infamous” Tonga Loa) after they had just defeated #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) to be the #1 Contender’s.
This is just Shelley and Sabin’s third match in the WWE since they officially joined the company several weeks back.
Immediately following the show, WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque shared a photo with the new Tag Team Champions and wrote, “On one hand… a long time coming. On the other hand… three matches in WWE, and they’re already champions. Congratulations to the Motor City Machine Guns Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin.”
