On a recent episode of the “Grilling JR” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross discussed Mercedes Mone’s AEW run so far. Mone’s babyface run has elicited mixed reactions on social media, but she is now regarded as one of the top heels in the company. Ross said he hasn’t felt a connection with Mone yet.
“I still haven’t felt her connection yet. I know that she has a lot of popularity. I know that people around the world know who she is, but I haven’t felt it. Sometimes I think she’s a cool babyface and sometimes I think she’s a cool heel, but she’s pretty cool nonetheless.”
On not being interviewed for the Mr. McMahon documentary:
“When I heard about it being made, I expected my agent, Barry Bloom, would have something in that space, but they never approached us. Bill Simmons’ group never approached us. This is going to sound really stupid, but I’m not so sure I would have done it anyway. It depends what they would be looking for and I’ve got everything they would be looking for. Sensationalism, you know, all these things. Working for Vince is an adventure. I would have had to think about it, but nonetheless, I never got a call on it if I was interested or whatever.”
