Toni Storm will compete for the IWGP Women’s Championship against Mayu Iwatani on October 5.
Storm has not appeared on AEW programming since All In, when she lost the Women’s Title to Mariah May. There is currently no word on when she will return to television.
As seen below, Storm and Mayu held a press conference to promote their upcoming match, during which she mentioned her love affair with legendary wrestler Stan Hansen, who had a successful career in Japan.
She stated in character, “To make a long story short, I once had a 3 month love affair with Stan Hansen. And on our last night together, as my back was dripping with what turned out to be chewing tobacco, he turned to me and gave me some advice. When you’re in Japan, you’re a foreigner. But when you’re in the ring, they’re in your country. And then he gave her a lariat, but not with his arm.”
