AEW will host Grand Slam: Australia on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. However, the show is reportedly not doing well at the box office.
The event was announced during the All In: London 2024 pay-per-view event, following The Sporting News’ initial report that the promotion intended to hold a show at an Australian stadium venue in 2025.
The venue’s listed football capacity is 52,000. Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez spoke on Wrestling Observer Radio about ticket sales for the show, with Meltzer noting that they were not doing well.
Alvarez: “How’s that show doing?”
Meltzer: “Not good.”
Alvarez: “That’s what everyone in Australia said. I mean, that’s what people in Australia said.
Meltzer: “I know beforehand. They were right. I think sometimes people think, like, if you rent a stadium, they will come. But, historically in wrestling, a lot of stadium shows did not do well.”
WrestleTix, which does an excellent job of tracking ticket sales, has not yet provided estimated ticket sales. Hopefully, with a loaded card and as the show approaches, ticket sales will rise.
