Hangman Page vs. Swerve Strickland has been an ongoing rivalry in AEW for the past year. This has continued on AEW television, despite Swerve having one of his most important matches to date.
Their first match was in October 2023, and they worked the following month. Later in February, they held a highly appreciated but vicious Texas death match at the Full PPV event. They later worked a triple threat match at AEW Revolution for the AEW World Championship. They also competed on opposing teams in this year’s Blood & Guts contest.
Strickland is scheduled to defend his World Title against Bryan Danielson at All In later this month in a title versus career battle. The same event also features a Casino Gauntlet match, with the winner earning a future opportunity at the AEW World Championship. Page does not have a match scheduled at All In, although he could work the Casino Gauntlet.
Ibou of WrestlePurists tweeted that “Swerve Strickland vs. ‘Hangman’ Adam Page is currently planned for AEW All Out in Chicago.”
All Out goes down just under two weeks after All In on September 7th.
