Championship Wrestling From Florida Alumnus Louie Tillet Passes Away

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Championship Wrestling From Florida Alumnus Louie Tillet, who was a booker and a wrestler in the company, passed away at the age of 90.

Tilletโ€™s professional wrestling career began in 1956 and ran through 1979. He worked for several wrestling territories in that era, including CWF, Georgia Championship Wrestling, Pacific Northwest Wrestling, NWA Mid-America, and more. Tillet was the booker in CWF and was the person who gave Hulk Hogan (then Terry Boulder) the nickname โ€œHulk.โ€

Following his retirement from wrestling, Tillet worked in the real estate industry and ran restaurants. His final match was in August 1982 at a Southeastern Championship Wrestling event in Birmingham, Alabama.
