As PWMania.com previously reported, AEW signed a number of international streaming deals with several companies to have their weekly television shows and other additional content air in different nations and countries all over the world.
The promotion’s multi-year streaming deal with TelevisaUnivision to broadcast their weekly television shows and other additional content on the network’s ViX platform all across Mexico and selected Latin American and Caribbean nations would unfortunately come to an end.
According to DAZN employee/reporter Steven Muehlhausen, AEW’s deal with them, which was initially set for three years, has come to an early end after just one year in. Muehlhausen also indicated that the termination clause DAZN had on their deal was exercised on New Year’s Eve last year and the company’s decision to part ways with AEW wasn’t a reflection on the pro wrestling promotion itself, but was due to lower-than-expected PPV numbers and viewership. Muehlhausen then praised AEW for their cooperation and efforts in promoting their content during his tenure as DAZN’s social media manager.
AEW had been reaching international audiences for their PPV events through TrillerTV (F.K.A. as FITE) with their AEW+ subscription service and will continue to do so with TrillerTV, YouTube and PPV.com.
SCOOP: DAZN and AEW had a three-year deal with DAZN having the right to drop them after the first year. DAZN exercised the option that ended the deal on New Year’s Eve.
The reason DAZN dropped AEW was because except for All In, the PPV numbers were below expectations and not… https://t.co/fvI5BwvUe7

Want to make PERFECTLY CLEAR, to me it wasn’t AEW fault the deal wasn’t renewed.
I ran the wrestling social side for DAZN. AEW bent over backwards when I asked for interviews and liners from talent to promote their major TV shows and PPVs.
DAZN NEVER gave wrestling even 5… https://t.co/pz6ljpkufi
