On returning to WWE at Survivor Series:
“I was stressing because when I was told, ‘We’re going to continue to work on this. Just start driving to the building.’ I was like, ‘Well, okay. I remember looking at my wife and I go,’ What do I wear?’ It’s not something that should stress me out. It’s something like that and absolutely sent me over the edge because I was like, I honestly don’t know what to wear. I can’t wear a bad shirt. Obviously. You guys should be thanking me for that. So yeah, just pick the plainest white t-shirt.”
On wearing old Cody Rhodes gear when he returned to the ring for his first WWE match in 10 years:
“I needed a pair of gear and he was like, “Here. These might be from OVW. He gave me like a couple of different options. One of them had a weird pattern on it and I was like, ‘I’m just gonna stick to the young boy, just straight black tights and I think it’s very very meaningful to me because if you know the context, you know the story, that’s great.”
