Pro wrestling legend Greg Gagne recently appeared on an episode of the Greg & Magnum podcast, where he talked about a number of topics including how he is really honored to be inducted into the George Tragos/Lou Thesz 2024 Hall of Fame.
Greg Gagne said, “I’m really honored. I got a little emotional when I saw it. It is really an honor because growing up the way I did, everybody was like, ‘He was the favorite. He’s Verne’s kid. He’s Verne’s kid. He’s Verne’s kid.’”
“I took a lot of crap for that over the years, but I think I made my own individual, you know, I got with the people. I don’t even know what to say about it anymore. It was tough growing up in that environment and everybody compared me to him. My father said, ‘You’re not following in your father’s footsteps. You’re making your own footsteps. Be yourself and create your own personality.’ I think that’s what I was able to do.”
“I wasn’t the biggest guy, but I had a lot of fire and knew how to get my opponents over and get myself over. I am very fortunate and very honored to be inducted into that Hall of Fame.”
