There has been a change at TNA Wrestling in the lead-up to next month’s Rebellion pay-per-view.
While the promotion was off to a strong start with the rebrand and the most successful PPV in company history, TNA President Scott D’Amore has been replaced by Anthony Cicione, leaving talent dissatisfied with management.
The promotion held TV tapings on Friday and Saturday nights, and two stars were reported to have left. First up is Motor City Machine Guns, who are officially finished with the promotion as their contracts expire at the end of the month.
Backstage, the TNA roster bid Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin farewell. A PWInsider report described it as a “pretty emotional scene.” Fightful also confirmed that they had departed.
They formed the tag team in 2007 and have had success with every promotion they’ve worked for, including ROH and NJPW. They both held TNA’s World and X-Division titles. They’ve won the Tag Team Championship three times together.
It was reported by PWInsider.com and later by Fightful Select that the former TNA Knockouts Tag-Team Champion had “finished up” with the company as of the TNA Sacrifice 2024 pay-per-view back on March 8. The women’s wrestling star is actually still under contract with TNA Wrestling through August of 2025. Apparently the term “finished up” that was making the rounds was because she is taking time off from TNA. The company does not have her factored into the creative plans for the foreseeable future.
