As PWMania.com previously reported, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T revealed on an episode of his Hall of Fame podcast that he and top WWE star CM Punk almost had an altercation at a recent NXT show. Booker did not get into details on what had actually happened, but he did tell Brad Gilmore that he would catch up with Punk in private.
Fightful Select reports that there is a level of skepticism and doubt regarding Booker’s claims as no sources were aware of any type of altercation or incident taking place backstage. It was mentioned to Fightful that Punk has been on his best behavior since returning to WWE in November and that Punk was in good spirits at Tuesday’s show. The report also stated that security at the WWE PC was unaware of any altercation taking place.
Sources who have spoken to Fightful mentioned that there is some frustration backstage with Booker T for making those claims about Punk, especially considering that Punk has a history of backstage altercations.
