Gable Steveson appears to be fully committed to WWE and focused on his new professional wrestling career.
Steveson signed a multi-year contract with WWE in 2021, and WWE planned to feature him on RAW following WrestleMania 38. Triple H has confirmed that he wanted to wrestle Stevson at the show before his medical issues.
The company hopes that he will become a top star like Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle. Stevson’s plans were pushed back because he had a heart procedure.
Although Stevson had planned to return to amateur wrestling and possibly compete in the 2024 Olympics, University of Minnesota coach Brandon Eggum recently updated Steveson’s status, stating that he will not be competing for them this season as he focuses on WWE.
He hasn’t appeared on television since last summer, with his only match being a no-contest with Baron Corbin at an NXT PLE last year. He has worked a few live events in NXT and dark matches on recent SmackDown events.
According to PWInsider, Steveson will attend “pretty much every” SmackDown event going forward, where he will continue to gain in-ring experience by working dark matches.
