WWE appears to be open to working with other promotions now that 2024 is in full swing under Triple H’s leadership, having recently worked with All Japan Pro Wrestling and expressing interest in working with STARDOM and NJPW.
WWE sent Charlie Dempsey, William Regal’s son, to challenge for the Triple Crown title at New Year Giant Series 2024 on January 3, but he came up short.
Triple H and WWE President Nick Khan may reconsider their relationship with New Japan Pro Wrestling now that Hiroshi Tanahashi has taken over as president.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer was asked if the Charlie Dempsey match was a one-time occurrence or if WWE will send more talent to Japan as part of the partnership.
“I was told it’s an ongoing thing, although there are certainly people in All Japan who have mixed feelings on it. But right now, that’s the president of All Japan [decision]. And, you know, WWE, they’ve got a deal going right now,” Meltzer stated.
