WWE appears to be open to collaborating with other promotions now that 2024 is in full swing under Triple H’s leadership. In the past, the company, led by Vince McMahon, has collaborated with other promotions when it made sense.
Shinsuke Nakamura was previously sent by WWE to Pro Wrestling Noah to work a match with The Great Muta as part of his retirement tour. WWE sent Charlie Dempsey, William Regal’s son, to compete for the Triple Crown title at the New Year Giant Series 2024 on January 3, but he fell short.
As PWMania.com previously reported, WWE has expressed interest in collaborating with STARDOM. It should be noted that STARDOM and NJPW are subsidiaries of Bushi Road.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported in the latest issue that Triple H and WWE President Nick Khan may be looking for another Japanese ally.
Meltzer went on to say, “There has been talk internally of them trying to make another go with New Japan, now that Hiroshi Tanahashi is president.”
AEW and NJPW have a long and strong working relationship, with them hosting the co-promoted Forbidden Door pay-per-view event for the past two years. Both AEW and NJPW allow talent to work for both companies.
