Insane Championship Wrestling have been a fantastic Scottish promotion, making waves globall for well over a decade.
From Drew Galloway to Grado, Wolfgang to the Coffeys, Kay Lee Ray to Piper Niven, the company has given a spotlight to amazing homegrown talent, with top storylines, great in-ring work and a great production setup.
At the end of every year, the promotion’s annual showcase, Fear and Loathing, takes place, with this year being their 15th installment.
PWMania’s Lee Tarrier (@leeseedub) was on hand to witness the event. Here are his top takeaways:
JESTER WINS THE TITLE AND THE CHANCE TO FIGHT ON!
In a brutal Title vs Career match, ICW legend, Jack Jester, defeated Aaron Echo to win the title and get the chance to continue his career. This match went from the ring to the stands and had everything thinking this was the end of Jester’s career. The hardocore hitter was emotional on the way to the ring, hugging crowd members and soaking in what could have possible been his last ring walk.
However, through the drawing pins, chairs and tables, Jester got the job done and the crowd went ballistic. He is one of the good guys on British and Scottish wrestling and deserves his flowers, and the title. What a match!
BUNGARD AND REED END A FANTASTIC TRILOGY
Over the last two years, Chris Bungard and Jason Reed have put on a trilogy of top matches in an unforgettable feud. The two ended it here with the MMA fighter defeating the wrestler, who I think, is a future ICW World Heavyweight Champion. Hard hitting, brutal and full of emotion, this match had it all and was a fitting finale to a great feud. Be sure to check this out!

RHIO IS THE REAL DEAL
Rhio two belts (holding both ICW and Progress Women’s Championships) is showing that 2024 is going to be hers, just like 2023 was. Defeating a tough challenger in Moxie Malone, Rhio showed that many eyes will be on her as she look to add more belts next year. Having both belts from two major British companies is evidence on the faith the scene has in her and during this strong bout, it was clear to see why.

STEVIE JAMES AND KENNY WILLIAMS HAVE A CLASSIC
The Outlaw won a brilliant 2 out of 3 falls match against Kenny Williams to win the Zero-G Championship. Williams new, psychotic character is a joy to watch with Stevie James being well over with the fans. Stevie will put on some classics while defending this belt, whilst Williams, well, don’t be surprised if him and Jester meet up sometime soon. It would definitely be an interesting feud.

THE YOUNG TEAM WIN TAG TEAM GOLD
Wee Man’s Young Team defeated The Manifesto is a ladder match full of daring maneuvers and high spots. A great way to kick off the PPV and really good to see future talent grab gold early in their career.

AND…who could be their first defence against? KOE!
All in all, this was a great event. The crowd were pumped throughout and every performer made sure they gave it their all. The company has always delivered a great alternative to the mainstream, all whilst ensuring their look and feel has a premium feel to it. I can’t wait to see what 2024 brings for Mark Dallas and the roster.
