NJPW held their Power Struggle Event this past Saturday from inside the Osaka Prefectural Gym (Edion Arena Osaka) in Osaka, Japan. During the show, Bullet Club leader and top company star David Finlay destroyed the IWGP U.S. and U.K. Championships.
NJPW Chairman Naoki Sugabayashi took part in a WrestleKingdom 18 press conference and revealed that new championship titles will be created in place of the destroyed titles.
Sugabayashi said, “Regarding the IWGP US belt, we will establish a new title. It is true that fans were confused whether it is a US belt or a UK belt, so we created a new one. We will announce the details soon.”
