WWE and Randy Orton are preparing for his return after being sidelined for an extended period of time, despite doctors’ advice that the former WWE Champion not continue his wrestling career.
The future WWE Hall of Famer has been out since last May after undergoing back fusion surgery late last year, but he was sighted in the Performance Center in Orlando, FL, last month, indicating he was getting closer to a return.
According to reports, WWE is aiming to bring him back for Survivor Series on Saturday, November 25, from the United Center in Chicago, IL. WWE has given the green light for new Orton gear and branding in anticipation of his return.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter revealed in the most recent issue that Orton’s return within the next month is still on schedule.
Meltzer wrote, “When asked about Orton returning at Survivor Series, we were told that is the suggested time frame, so likely about a month or so. His doctor did suggest he retire due to back issues but Orton makes a ton of money and really wants to go until he’s 50 if at all possible.”
