Ronda Rousey was defeated by Shayna Baszler in an MMA Rules Match at the WWE SummerSlam premium live event from Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan, this past Summer, bringing her second stint with the company to an end.
She didn’t stay out of the ring for long, though, as the former WWE Women’s Champion made a surprise comeback for Lucha VaVOOM on Thursday at the Mayan Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
Rousey was in the front row when she teamed up with her long-time friend Marina Shafir to compete in tag team action against Taya Valkyrie and Brian Kendrick.
It just lasted five minutes before Rousey submitted Kendrick with an ankle lock to win the match for her team. You can watch the entire match here, which she released on Instagram along with a message saying that anyone who questioned that she and Shafir could make magic in the ring is a fool.
Kendrick assisted in the training of Rousey, who had asked him to return to WWE twice during her stay as a co-producer for her matches.
