AEW Battle Of The Belts 8 Review – October 21, 2023
Kicking off the 8th annual Battle Of The Belts with Orange Cassidy got into a brief shoving match with Jon Moxley before they got separated.
International Title Match
Orange Cassidy (c) vs. John Silver
After being taunted by John Silver Orange Cassidy dove onto Alex Reynolds on the floor and took back his sunglasses which Reynolds had taken. Silver hit a big Beal out of the corner. Cassidy took over and rams Silver into the top turnbuckle 10 times.
Silver rebounded and held Cassidy for a prolonged period of time before hitting a superplex for a near fall then both men made their way out onto the apron and exchanged blows as the show went to a picture in picture break.
After the break Silver press slams Cassidy off the apron and hits him with another beal on the floor. Silver was kicking Cassidy but he ducks a kick and dropkicks Silver.
Cassidy hits a Tiger Driver for a near fall then started light kicks to Silver’s chest but eventually picked up the intensity. Cassidy hits Slumdog Millionaire follow by Beach Break for a near fall.
He went for the Orange Punch but was distracted by Reynolds as was on the apron & hits Cassidy with the International Title while Silver distracted the referee as Silver rolls up Cassidy for a near fall.
Silver followed up with several near falls before Cassidy trips Silver running into the corner and hits Orange Punch for the win.
Winner & Still International Champion: Orange Cassidy (9:31) (STILL CHAMPION!!!!!!)

Backstage Lexy Nair interviews Andrade El Idolo & she asked him how he felt after his match with Bryan Danielson on Collision as he was about to answer CJ Perry enters. She said with a little guidance he could become the biggest, the best and according to some the most handsome wrestling star in the world. El Idolo was confused but when Nair informed him that Perry might want to manage him, he looked intrigued.
Smart Mark Sterling & Tony Nese were in the ring. Sterling proclaimed Nese as the next ROH Television Champion. Nese shits on the Memphis crowd and started to do his group training gimmick that he does before every match as of late but he was interrupted by Samoa Joe.
ROH Television Title Match
Samoa Joe (c) vs. Tony Nese
Match ends when Samoa Joe drills Tony Nese to the mat with Muscle Buster to get the win.
Winner & Still ROH Television Champion: Samoa Joe (1:17) (STILL CHAMPION!!!!!!)

After the match Joe grabs the microphone and addressed AEW World Champion MJF. He said he was giving MJF the gift of foresight in that he’s coming for the AEW World Title. He said MJF could use this gift to either give him what he wants or Joe could put MJF in a situation where MJF is forced to give him what he wants.
TBS Title Match
Kris Statlander (c) vs. Willow Nightingale
Match starts off with an exchange of armbars followed by a series of chain wrestling moves then Kris Statlander does leap frog but took Willow Nightingale down with a shoulder block for a 1 count.
Statlander hits a springboard elbow which prompted Nightingale to roll to the outside then Statlander dove onto her but Nightingale recovers and hits a cannonball splash onto Statlander as she up against the steps as Nightingale stays on the offense as we go to a break
After the break exchanged blows in center ring before Statlander hits a running knee followed by a Blue Thunder Bomb for a near fall.
Nightingale hits a Pounce on Statlander before she recovers and hits a spinning DDT for another near fall. Nightingale hits a Death Valley Driver from the 2nd rope for a near fall followed by choking Statlander and smiling.
Nightingale climbs the ropes but was caught by Statlander & she powerbombs her and hits a 450 splash for the win.

After the match they were about to shake hands but Skye Blue came out and prevented it but Nightingale went ahead and did it anyway with Blue looking angered.
Backstage Lexy Nair interviews International Orange Cassidy. He said Silver kicks very hard and mentioned the altercation with the Blackpool Combat Club earlier tonight. He challenges Bryan Danielson & Claudio Castagnoli to a tag team match on Dynamite against himself & Kazuchika Okada.
Trios Titles Match
The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens & Max Caster) & Billy Gunn (c) vs. Angelo Parker, Matt Menard & Daniel Garica
Max Caster & Daniel Garcia chain wrestle to start this match off then Garcia went to dance but was stopped by Matt Menard as the fans chanted for the dance but Anna Jay enters the ring to talk Garcia down but was ejected from the match.
Menard took over on Anthony Bowens but he recovers and got the best of Menard & Angelo Parker before they took over on offense on Caster as went to our final picture in picture break.
After the break Menard, Parker & Garica are working over Bowens & he eventually made the hot tag to Billy Gunn.
After cleaning house The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn hits Scissor Me Timbers on Menard for a near fall. They attempted to scissor mid match but were attacked by Garcia & Parker.
Everyone is brawling on the floor with Caster & Garcia in the ring as Garcia went to dance again but Caster rolls him up for a near fall. Garcia got his 2nd wind and took over on offense.
He stopped in the middle of the barrage and successfully danced & this enabled Caster to recover and Gunn to hit Fameasser then The Acclaimed then hits a assisted Falcon Arrow for the win.
Winner & Still Trios Champions: The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn (10:44) (STILL CHAMPIONS!!!!!!)
