Fans of the “Knives Out” movie franchise can expect a third installment.
The mystery franchise’s first film, starring Daniel Craig, was released in 2019. It made $311.9 million at the box office on a $40 million budget. They returned in 2022 for the sequel, “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery,” starring Dave Bautista. Craig, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, and Kate Hudson also appeared.
That film was distributed by Netflix and had a $40 million budget while earning $15 million at the box office, despite being mostly seen and highly praised on Netflix.
Rian Johnson, who wrote and directed the previous two films, revealed to The Wrap that he has a rough draft of the next story.
“It’s coming along. I obviously couldn’t work during the strike, and now that it’s over, I’m diving in full force. I’ve got the premise, I’ve got the setting, I’ve got what the movie is in my head. It’s just a matter of writing the damn thing.”
