The following press release was send to PWMania.com:

The legacy of Angelo Savoldi continues through the launch of the Ultimate Classic Wrestling Channel, a FAST Channel exclusively distributed by SPACEMOB.

Savmar Wrestling Promotions, a wrestling promotion started by Angelo Savoldithat dates back to 1963 and that has more than 4,000 total hours of wrestling content from the 50s to today, has partnered with SPACEMOB, a global media company with a focus on distribution of streaming TV channels, to make available a bulk of its wrestling library available to fans through the new Ultimate Classic Wrestling Channel.

The Ultimate Classic Wrestling Channel will feature some great classic wrestling matches that will be sure to give feelings of nostalgia and excitement for wrestling fans young and old. The channel will include some of the biggest names in wrestling history like Ric Flair, Andre The Giant. Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin, Dusty Rhodes, Junkyard Dog, The Iron Sheik, Abdullah the Butcher, Kerry Von Erich and so many more.

Savoldi, born Mario Fornini in Brooklyn, New York, in 1914, began his professional wrestling career in 1937. He followed his brother Lou into the business, who had found success in wrestling and the early days of television doing stunts and strongman feats. He famously pulled a city bus uphill by his teeth on Art Baker’s “You Asked for it.” The brothers were given the “Savoldi” moniker by a promoter due to their similar look and style to one of the earliest wrestling and football stars, Jumpin’ Joe Savoldi.

Angelo won the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship three times in the 1950s. During that period, he feuded with some of the biggest names in wrestling at the time, including Danny Hodge and Verne Gagne.

Angelo retired from in-ring competition in 1963 and began promoting shows for Vince McMahaon Sr.’s Capitol Wrestling. In the 1980’s, he began promoting wrestling shows in the Northeast, including New York, New Jersey, Maine, and Pennsylvania with his son Mario. Angelo Savoldi was a leader in wrestling promotion well into his later years and died in 2013 at the age of 99, but not before earning one last accolade; the World’s Oldest Professional Wrestler.

The Savoldi and Savmar Wrestling promotion is now run by Savoldi’s son Mario Savoldi Jr. From decades of promoting, and several acquisitions of footage, Savmar Media holds the world’s largest privately-owned library of professional wrestling..

We’re thrilled to be connected with Savmar Wrestling Promotion for the launch of the Ultimate Classic Wrestling channel. Savmar is a legendary institution in the world of professional wrestling and with over 4,000 hours of wrestling content spanning from the 50s to today, this channel will give fans around the globe a timeless collection of memories, legends, and unforgettable moments.” stated Loren Wilson, CEO, SPACEMOB.
