Fightful Select reports that Johnny Gargano was originally set to return to the WWE immediately after Tommaso Ciampa challenged Seth “Freakin” Rollins for his WWE World Heavyweight Title on the June 19th episode of Monday Night RAW. The match would have seen the Judgment Day get involved somehow and Gargano make his way down to the ring to save Ciampa and reunite DIY, but that plan was nixed and the match ended up being a standard championship match with Rollins successfully retaining his title.
It was also mentioned in the report that plans were constantly changing for the June 19th RAW episode even before the planned segment with Gargano got scrapped altogether. A lot of people were reportedly frustrated with the constant changes.
Gargano did make his return to WWE this past Monday night on RAW to reunite DIY, when he made his way down to the ring to make the save for Ciampa and help fight off Imperium.
