All Elite Wrestling held their All In London Event this past August 27 from inside Wembley Stadium in London, England and it was revealed that the historic and monumental show had a massive attendance of 81,035 paid fans, which the company touted as the new worldwide attendance record for a pro wrestling show.
Wrestlenomics reports that AEW All In London actually saw 72,265 fans go through the turnstiles and that this new information comes from the Freedom of Information office for the Brent Civic Centre in response to a public records request on the show’s attendance. The Brent Civic Centre is a company that provides citizens with public services for the Brent London Borough and is located where Wembley Stadium is.
This comes after WrestleTix noted that All In London had an attendance of 83,131 fans, but this total number didn’t include people sitting up in the suites. F4WOnline.com also revealed that All In London had an attendance of 85,371 fans if the total number included AEW fans sitting up in the suites, comp tickets and staff, which would still make the All In London Event the largest verifiable crowd in pro wrestling history and that 12,000-14,000 seats were blocked off due to staging and obstructed views.
Wrestlenomics was told that a typical AEW PPV Event has a drop count, which is also known as a “turnstile count” and this count is around 80% to 90% of the total paid attendance or tickets distributed, so as far as AEW’s All In London goes, 89% of 83,131 is 72,265. WWE announced an initial attendance of 101,763 fans for WrestleMania 32, but WWE Chairman Vince McMahon later admitted that the total number included ushers, ticket takers and all that, though WWE WrestleMania 32 still had a higher turnstile count than AEW All In London as Arlington Police said that 80,709 fans entered AT&T stadium for the show, which is more than 8,000 higher than the turnstile count of 72,265 for All In London.
It wasn’t made clear if the WWE WrestleMania 32 or AEW All In London had the higher number of ticket sales, but it was revealed in the 2016 Q3 report that WrestleMania 32 had a paid attendance of somewhere in the range between 73,711 fans to 85,888 fans, which is in the vicinity of the 80,709 fan turnstile count.
Another event that is in the conversation of verifiable most-attended pro wrestling shows ever is the WWE WrestleMania III Premium Live Event, which according to F4WOnline.com had a total attendance of 75,800 paid fans and a total attendance of around 78,000 fans. Wrestlenomics did note that if the event was a sell-out, the number could be higher.
