As PWMania.com previously reported, All Elite Wrestling released former 2-time AEW World Champion CM Punk following his incident with former FTW Champion Jack Perry at last weekend’s All In London PPV Event from Wembley Stadium.
According to PWInsider.com, there is a mixed backstage reaction from the AEW locker room on the release of the former 2-time AEW World Champion, with a number of AEW stars being really down about it, while others believe it was the right move and they are happy.
The report also mentions that there are those in the middle who are just happy that AEW President and CEO Tony Khan made a decision and now everyone can move forward from Punk and focus on the promotion. It is very unfortunate that Punk was released at this specific time as AEW is set to hold their All Out PPV Event later tonight from Punk’s hometown of Chicago.
