AEW Earned $100,000 In Sponsorship Money For Texas Chainsaw Massacre Death Match

There is a reason AEW fans were subjected to the train-wreck that was the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Death Match on the AEW Dynamite: Fight For The Fallen 2023 charity special event on Wednesday night.

Money, of course!

Dave Meltzer noted on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio at F4WOnline.com that AEW garnered approximately $100,000 in sponsorship fees for the promotional gimmick match, designed to promote the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game.

It’s worth noting that the money generated by the sponsorship deal, much like the proceeds generated by Wednesday night’s show as a whole, was donated to the Maui Wildfire victims.

The match saw Jeff Jarrett pick up the win in a bout that involved Satnam Singh, Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, Karen Jarrett, Matt Hardy, Ethan Page, Brother Zay, and of course, Leatherface.
