Chris Jericho and Mike Tyson almost shared the ring in 2020, but plans fell through.

Tyson appeared at Double or Nothing in 2020 to present the TNT Title. Tyson was involved in a brawl with Jericho and the Inner Circle on an episode of Dynamite that aired after the show.

There had been some talk about a match between the boxing legend and Jericho at the time, but it never happened. Tyson and Jericho later aligned the following April, and Tyson assisted Jericho in defeating The Pinnacle, earning Tyson an honorary membership in The Inner Circle.

Jericho revealed plans for a cinematic match in 2020 while appearing on the AEW-some podcast.

“Mike Tyson and I almost had a cinematic match. We were this close to doing it, Tyson vs. Jericho in a New York Street Fight, but we couldn’t make it happen. We really were deep in negotiations too. We were going to do it in New York in an alley, like an alley fight, basically. Think ‘They Live’ with Tyson and Jericho. That’s what I had in mind.”

On tonight’s Dynamite episode, Jericho will decide whether or not to join the Don Callis Family.
