Ricochet cut the most engaging promo of his career on the July 10th episode of Monday Night RAW against YouTube sensation Logan Paul.
At Money in The Bank Ricochet did a springboard Spanish Fly to Logan Paul into the table. It was a scary landing that could’ve injured Maverick. The two blurred the lines of reality and storyline. The high-flying superstar sternly warned Paul not to “ever run his damn mouth about Ricochet again” after Logan called the move “unprofessional”.
Even the biggest Ricochet supporter must admit that he does not typically bring this energy on the microphone. His words had an edge and a bite to it that fans have never heard.
A good hero cannot thrive unless he has a worthy villain that is antagonizing him.
Logan Paul is a natural heel that generates instant heat. One could argue that the only heels that get more heat are Roman Reigns and Dominic Mysterio (honorable mention: GUNTHER).
Paul is using his mainstream star power to help take Ricochet to another level. It is always beneficial when fans of Impaulsive podcast will pay attention to WWE to see their guy. Getting new eyeballs on WWE content is always a goal. Additionally, it is smart to talk smack on a podcast that millions are subscribed to.
Their athletic showdown in the Royal Rumble likely gave Paul the idea that he and Ricochet’s styles would mesh well.
Although the match has not been officially booked, Logan Paul vs. Ricochet is likely going to happen at Summerslam. Both these athletes always prove to be willing to put their bodies through anything to have a great match.
The match can easily be the sleeper match of the night. Both superstars can come out better than they come in regardless of the outcome. The greatest celebrity-athlete wrestler of all time is paying his dues and helping elevate fresh talent.
