Fans were concerned that Rick Steiner’s behavior a few months ago would have a negative impact on his son, Bron Breakker, and his WWE career.
Steiner made transphobic remarks to Impact Wrestling star Gisele Shaw at WrestleCon on WrestleMania 39 weekend in April, which was witnessed by several people.
Breakker recently told USA Today that his father’s transphobic remarks do not represent him.
Steiner confirmed the situation occurred to multiple people, according to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select. The reported stated, “There was no heat from WWE towards Breakker, but we’re told that it eliminated any chance of the company using Rick Steiner for quite some time.”
Those they spoke with stated that there was no thought given to holding Breakker accountable for something his father did. Since joining the company, the former NXT champion has reportedly had no character issues.
Last week on NXT TV, Breakker was defeated by World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins.
