35 years.
It’s a long time.
It’s how long ago Shawn Michaels started breaking hearts.
“The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels burst onto the scene in WWE over 35-years ago, as the two-time WWE Hall of Fame legend and WWE NXT executive celebrated the milestone anniversary on Sunday.
WWE wrote of the milestone anniversary, “Shawn Michaels made his WWE debut 35 years ago today. Happy anniversary to ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ and the man who makes WWE NXT what it is.”
Michaels surfaced on social media soon after to issue a brief statement as well.
“35 years ago, I entered WWE as The Heartbreak Kid and what a ride it’s been,” he wrote via Twitter. “Thank you to WWE for giving me an opportunity of a lifetime and to the incredible WWE Universe for your unending support!”
HBK concluded, “You’re the reason I’ve still got that sweet chin music after all these years!”
Congratulations to Shawn Michaels on 35-years of moments and memories in front of the WWE Universe. Thanks for all the entertainment, HBK!
