International WWE PLE Planned For Labor Day Weekend Revealed

WWE is heading to India later this year.

WWE CEO Nick Khan revealed today at the SVB MoffettNathanson Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference in New York City that WWE will hold a live event in India in September, according to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics. As of this writing, no additional information had been provided.

While not confirmed as of this writing, it appears that this will be the international WWE Premium Live Event that was recently reported to be planned for Labor Day Weekend on Saturday, September 2.

This year’s Labor Day Weekend will be busy for pro wrestling fans once again, as AEW All Out will take place on Sunday, September 3. In 2022, WWE held the Clash at The Castle Premium Live Event from Cardiff, Wales on Saturday, September 3, and AEW held All Out from Chicago on Sunday, September 4. WWE NXT Worlds Collide took place on the same Sunday at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. Tony Khan, President of the AEW, was not pleased.

WWE has not held a show in India since a Supershow live event on December 9, 2017 in New Delhi. Last November, it was reported that WWE had a major event planned for Hyderabad, India, in January, but the show was canceled in late December due to the Sony-Zee merger.

As previously stated, WWE is in discussions with governments and tourism organizations all over the world, as Khan recently discussed. It was recently stated that WWE would not return to India until the Zee-Sony merger was completed, but word has recently come down that they are nearing the end of the process. WWE is also considering launching a PLE in Australia.
