WWE Crew Encountered Plane Maintenance Issues While Traveling To Puerto Rico

WWE will broadcast tonight’s episode of SmackDown as well as Saturday’s Backlash premium live event from San Juan, Puerto Rico’s Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot.

It is the first PLE in Puerto Rico since the New Year’s Resolution pay-per-view event in 2005, when Triple H defended his World Heavyweight Title in the main event after surviving an Elimination Chamber match.

WWE referee Jessica Carr stated on Instagram that the crew had some issues prior to the trip due to maintenance with the plane they were flying in on. In the caption, she wrote:

“Some maintenance issues with the plane headed to Puerto Rico ?? but crossing fingers that they’re handled quick!”

The show’s card appears to be set, with seven matches, including Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes, WWE Tag Team Champions Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens, Matt Riddle vs. The Bloodline (The Usos and Solo Sikoa), and Bad Bunny vs. Damien Priest in a street brawl.
