The current New Japan Pro-Wrestling KOPW Titleholder Shingo Takagi has named a few AEW stars when discussing his next possible challenger.
On April 2nd, Shingo Takagi successfully defended his KOPW Championship in an Ultimate Triad match against Aaron Henare at the NJPW Road To Sakura Genesis event.
After the match, Shingo Takagi had comments regarding the match against Aaron Henare:
“I thought I was going to mic him up a lot today…. Henare is too strong. Thanks to him, Shingo Takagi became strong again. Thanks to him, Shingo Takagi became strong again. Thanks for the most interesting rules this time”.
Takagi then commented on his next potential challenger for the KOPW Title and specifically named a few AEW stars:
“Next challenger, is there anyone? I heard there will be a Forbidden door in June,” he said. Takagi listed the names of Claudio Castagnoli, Samoa Joe, Bryan Danielson, and others. “Maybe not everyone can go, but I have this belt, and AEW, you better make me a decent offer, too”.
AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door 2 is scheduled to take place June 25th in Toronto, Ontario at the Scotiabank Arena.
