WWE NXT New Year’s Evil Results – January 10, 2023
Kicking off New Year’s Evil with we head to a class in Chase U, where Andre Chase tells his students to watch and study New Year’s Evil. He then runs down the card for tonight’s show.
Dijak vs. Tony D’Angelo
Tony D’Angelo wastes no time. He clotheslines Dijak out of the ring, then fires off several right hands and sends him into the apron. Dijak responds by sending D’Angelo into the ring post, then delivers a clothesline. They get back in the ring before D’Angelo delivers a 2nd clothesline and a right hand. Dijak sends D’Angelo bouncing off the top rope, then delivers a clothesline of his own. D’Angelo delivers a big boot, then clotheslines Dijak to the outside once again that takes us to a break.
After the break Dijak is beating down D’Angelo. D’Angelo fires back with a back elbow, a lariat, and a belly 2 belly suplex, then follows it up with a spinebuster. He goes for a pin, but Dijak kicks out. Dijak manages to deliver a superkick and High Justice, then goes for a pin but D’Angelo kicks out. A handcuffed Stacks gets in the ring and insists on taking D’Angelo’s place. Dijak sets up for a big boot, but D’Angelo pushes Stacks out of the way thrn gets nail with a Spinning Boot to get the win.
Winner: Dijak
After the match Dijak & North American Champion Wes Lee stare one another down.
We then head backstage to McKenzie Mitchell is with Toxic Attraction. Jacy Jayne says they will win the 20 Woman Battle Royal and face Perez at Vengeance Day in order to cause her pain. Perez asks what happens if they end up as the final 2 and Gigi Dolin says that no matter what, the WWE Universe will hear the words your winners: Toxic Attraction.
Tag Team Match
Creed Brothers vs. Indus Sher
Sanga says that Veer Mahaan is not here, but he will still honor the match. Julius Creed says they will not fight just him, but out of nowhere, Jinder Mahal blindsides him with an attack from behind. Meanwhile, Sanga delivers a chokeslam to Brutus Creed on the ring steps as Mahal hits the Khallas on Julius. He then grabs a mic and says while Sanga & Mahaan fight for respect, he doesn’t.
We then head backstage to Pretty Deadly with rollers in their hair as they get ready for their match and discuss it. NXT Tag Team Champions New Day walks in and informs them that they’re on next.
Winners: No One (Match Never Got Started)
NXT Tag Team Title #1 Contenders Gauntlet Match
Pretty Deadly vs. Brian Williams & Jimmy Jackson vs. Edris Enofe & Malik Blade vs. Gallus
Elton Prince knocks Jimmy Jackson off the apron. Kit Wilson hits Brian Williams with an assisted gutbuster. Pretty Deadly hits Spilled Milk for the win.
NXT Tag Team Champions New Day walks out and said they weren’t going to let Pretty Deadly get off the hook that easily. Kofi said they have two actual tag teams able to come out now. The first are Edris Enofe & Malik Blade.
Enofe & Blade swarmed Pretty Deadly with quick strikes before they take out Pretty Deadly with stereo flip dives that takes us to a commercial break.
After the break Enofé tags in and delivers a pair of back elbows to Wilson. He follows it up with a running knee, but Prince tags himself in and delivers an uppercut. They teeter on the top rope as Blade makes the blind tag. Prince delivers a superplex to Enofé before Blade delivers a frog splash off the top rope. He goes for a pin, but Prince kicks out. Enofé then rolls up Prince, but Wilson pushes them to reverse the roll up with one of his own to get the win.
New Day then heads back out and announces Pretty Deadly’s next opponents: Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen. However, they don’t come to the ring right away. We then see them laid out backstage as a referee checks on them and asks who did this.
Just then, Gallus’ music hits and they head down to take their places in their return from suspension.
Gallus wastes no time and fires off forearms on Pretty Deadly. Wolfgang sends Prince into the announce desk as Mark Coffey chokeslams Wilson on the apron. Wolfgang tosses Prince in the ring before Coffey delivers a chokeslam. Wilson tags in and Coffey delivers a big boot before Gallus deliver their finisher for the win.
Winners & #1 Contenders To The NXT Tag Team Titles: Gallus
After the match New Day & Gallus have a stare down on the ramp.
We then go backstage and see Ivy Nile arguing with Julius Creed. Nile tries telling Creed he needs to move on from Indus Sher, but Creed doesn’t listen and says he can’t after what happened with Jinder Mahal.
After the break we head to a video of Carmelo Hayes mocking Apollo Crews as he drinks coffee in a diner and writes in a journal.
Tiffany Stratton heads to the ring in her return to NXT. Stratton asks fans how much they missed her, then rags in the women’s locker room. She says she picked up wrestling faster than anyone else and says she watched everyone try to be her. She says the center of the universe is back.
We then head to a video hyping up the NXT Title match between Bron Breakker & Grayson Waller.
NXT Title Match
Bron Breakker (c) vs. Grayson Waller
Match starts off with a lock up before Grayson Waller slaps Bron Breakker, then realizes his mistake and slides out of the ring. Breakker chases him back inside, then delivers a big boot. He follows it up with a delayed vertical suplex and a standing moonsault, but Waller fires back with a Tornado DDT. Breakker delivers a belly 2 belly toss, followed by a tilt a whirl slam. Waller sends Breakker into the middle turnbuckle, causing the middle rope to snap & we go to a commercial break.
After the break Waller has Breakker in an Ankle Lock. Breakker reverses the submission, but Waller manages to grab the bottom rope to break the hold. They exchange elbow strikes before Waller delivers a clothesline to the back to Breakker’s neck. He then locks in the Steiner Recliner, but Breakker powers through and stands up.
He tosses Waller off his back, then delivers a pair of shoulder tackles and a Catch and Release. Breakker looks for a Spear, but Waller counters with a knee straight to his forehead. He goes for a pin but Breakker kicks out. Waller ascends to the middle rope, but it snaps once again. Waller tumbles to the outside, and the referee begins the 10 count. Waller is unable to get back to his feet in time.
Winner By Count Out & Still NXT Champion: Bron Breakker (STILL CHAMPION!!!!)
We head backstage to McKenzie Mitchell and Roxanne Perez. Mitchell asks Perez if she’s rooting for anyone, and Perez says she’s rooting for Cora Jade. Mitchell asks if she’s serious and Perez says she’s just kidding. She says she’s rooting for anyone but Jade, then hypes up the women’s roster. She adds that she can’t wait to watch.
We then head to a video recapping the events that have led to the partnership between Drew Gulak & Hank Walker.
Charlie Dempsey vs. Hank Walker
Charlie Dempsey & Hank Walker lock up to kick this match off then Walker sends himself & Dempsey tumbling out of the ring, then gets him back inside. They go back & forth with submissions before Dempsey delivers a Dragon Screw. He locks in the Regal Stretch, but Walker grabs the bottom rope to break the hold.
Walker locks in a variation on an arm bar, but Dempsey reverses the submission hold into the Regal Stretch. Walker gets close to the bottom rope, but Dempsey pulls him away and Walker is forced to tap out.
Winner By Submission: Charlie Dempsey
We head backstage to Sol Ruca. Alba Fyre approaches her and says she’s bummed they never got to face one another. She offers to face her 1 on 1 and Ruca hesitates with her answer. Fyre snaps and asks if she wants the match, then realizes what she did. She apologizes and explains she has a lot on her mind. Ruca accepts her apology and takes her up on her offer.
We then head to a video hyping up Tyler Bate ahead of his return next week.
We then see another video from the NXT Anonymous with Oro Mensah the subject of the clip.
Jinder Mahal vs. Julius Creed
Julius Creed wastes no time. He rains down right hands then follows it up with a spinebuster and knocks Jinder Mahal to the outside that takes us to a break.
After the break Creed delivers a superplex to Mahal. Mahal delivers a series of knees to Creed’s neck, then hits a jumping knee and a stomp. Creed delivers a suplex, then plants Mahal. He ascends to the top rope, then looks for a Shooting Star Press. Mahal rolls out of the way and delivers the Side Pressing Kick. He follows it up with the Khallas for the win.
Winner: Jinder Mahal
We head backstage and see Kiana James checking on Brooks Jensen in the medical office. We pan out and see Josh Briggs & Fallon Henley. They discuss their attack on Gallus earlier tonight and the upcoming Battle Royal.

Wendy Choo vs. Cora Jade vs. Indi Hartwell vs. Thea Hail vs. Jacy Jane vs. Gigi Dolin vs. Elektra Lopez vs. Jakara Jackson vs. Nikkita Lyons vs. Kiana James vs. Fallon Henley vs. Zoey Stark vs. Tatum Paxley vs. Ivy Nile vs. Amari Miller vs. Layra Valkyria vs. Lash Legend vs. Sol Ruca vs. Valentina Feroz vs. Dani Palmer
Match starts off with all 20 women all begin to brawl with one another. Lyra Valkyria sends Cora Jade over the top rope right off the bat. Kiana James sends Tatum Paxley on the apron, then sends her crashing into the ringpost to eliminate her. James then helps out Fallon Henley as Amari Miller delivers a chop to Lash Legend. Legend then sends her over the top rope.
Toxic Attraction look to eliminate Sol Ruca, but Ruca handstands her way back to the apron and manages to get herself back in the ring. Thea Hail sends Valentina Feroz crashing over the top as Legend looks to eliminate Hartwell. She looks for a big boot, but Hartwell low-bridges the top rope and sends her onto the apron. She delivers a big boot to send her packing. Meanwhile, James is sent to the outside with a headscissors courtesy of Lyra Valkyria.
Legend & James argue on the outside as Zoey Stark delivers a military press to Dani Palmer over the top rope. Cora Jade sneaks back in the ring, but Lyra Valkrya low-bridges over the top rope to and to the outside that sends us to a break.
After the break Jacy Jayne eliminates Indi Hartwell as Vic Joseph announces Thea Hail & Fallon Henley have been eliminated. Toxic Attraction looks to eliminate Alba Fyre as Nikkita Lyons is going after Elektra Lopez. She sends Lopex onto the apron, then hits a kick to send her packing.
Stark looks to send Choo packing and gets her over the top, but Choo lands on her pillow and saves herself from elimination. Lopez pulls her pillow out from under her to eliminate her. Back in the ring, Lyons looks for a kick on Stark, but Stark ducks it and clotheslines her over the top. Sol Ruca then tosses Stark over the top rope.
Ruca delivers a dropkick to Gigi Dolin, then looks for a springboard elbow on Alba Fyre. Fyre manages to avoid it, then sends Ruca over the top rope.
We are down to the final 4 Valkyria,Toxic Attraction & Fyre. Valkyria & Fyre go after Toxic Attraction. Jacy Jayne looks to send Fyre packing, but Fyre holds on to the top rope and avoids elimination. Valkyria delivers a double dropkick to Toxic Attraction, then delivers a series of stomps to Jayne and a step up enziguri to Dolin.
Fyre & Valkyria teeter on the apron. Fyre looks for a German suplex, but Valkyria holds on. Toxic Attraction looks to knock them to the floor, but Fyre & Valkyria hang on and level Toxic Attraction. Valkryia then delivers a headscissors that sends Fyre over the top rope and to the floor.
We are down to 3: Lyra Valkyria & Toxic Attraction. Cora Jade runs in out of nowhere, distracting Valkyria and allowing Toxic Attraction to eliminate her.
We are down to the final 2 Jacy Jayne & Gigi Dolin. Valkyria & Jade brawl on the outside as Toxic Attraction celebrates in the ring. They then stare one another down as they decide who wins. Jayne holds up Dolin’s hand and volunteers to eliminate herself. Dolin tells her to stop, but Jayne suddenly superkicks her and sends her onto the apron. She fires off right hands, but Dolin sends her repeatedly into the top turnbuckle. She gets her onto the apron, then ascends to the middle rope. Jayne meets her there and they teeter the middle rope before they begin to exchange right hands. Jayne delivers a final blow to Dolin, and both women fall to the ground at the exact same time.
Officials debate which woman fell first and huddle up around a monitor as they try and figure it out. They come to the ruling that both women have won the match.
Winners & #1 Contender To The Women’s Title: Toxic Attraction
After the match Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez comes out & has a staredown with Toxic Attraction
We head backstage to NXT Champion Bron Breakker,Grayson Waller & Shawn Michaels. Michaels says what happened with the middle rope was unfortunate, but he wants a decisive winner. They almost comes to blows, but Michaels prevents them from doing so. He informs them that they will have another match for the NXT Title at Vengeance Day in a Steel Cage match to close out this week’s NXT.
