WWE RAW Results – December 19, 2022
Kicking off this week’s Raw with Paul Heyman welcomes fans to Raw from backstage and introduces himself. We pan over to Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, who says Raw is the home of Kevin Owens. He says he continues to leave his home to crash the gates of the Island of Relevancy, then tells him he’ll need much more than John Cena, possibly the entire Raw locker room, to have his back because he interfered in his business. He says it’s time to showcase the resources he has and says everyone will eventually acknowledge The Bloodline. We then catch up with the rest of The Bloodline, who are attacking Mustafa Ali.
Tag Team Match
Street Profits vs. Judgement Day
Montez Ford & Damian Priest lock up. Ford delivers a superkick, followed by a series of chops, then hits a dropkick. Priest fires back with a back elbow, then whips him into the corner and delivers a right hand to his head. He delivers a series of stomps, then tags in Finn Balor. Balor beats down Ford as we see The Bloodline attacking Andre Chase. They hit him with a guitar as Angelo Dawkins tags in and delivers a shoulder tackle. Ford tags back in and delivers an ax handle. Dawkins tags back in and does the same thing as Ford before Priest tags in and delivers a superkick. He knocks him to the outside that takes us to a break.
After the break Ford delivers a DDT and tags in Dawkins. Dawkins delivers a shoulder tackle, then hits a back elbow and an enziguri. Ford tags in and delivers a From The Heavens. Balor catches him with a right hand to his spine, but Ford delivers a step up enziguri. Balor hits a slingblade, followed by a dropkick. Tozawa splashes the contents of his solo cup into Dominik Mysterio’s face on the outside before Ford takes advantage and rolls up Balor for the win.
Winners: Street Profits
After the match Rhea Ripley gets in Tozawa’s face, then clocks him with a right hand. She challenges him to get in the ring and face her.
Akira Tozawa vs. Rhea Ripley
Rhea Ripley delivers a boot to Akira Tozawa. She delivers a right hand, then dares Tozawa to hit her. Ripley turns Tozawa inside out, then sends him into the top turnbuckle face first. Ripley rains down right hands and forearms, then looks for a vertical suplex. Tozawa blocks it and looks for one of his own. Ripley blocks it and manages to hit it the 2nd time, then locks in a chinlock. Tozawa escapes and Ripley knocks him down to the mat.
Tozawa manages to roll up Ripley. Ripley kicks out before Tozawa delivers a hurricanrana that sends her out of the ring. Tozawa looks to go flying to the outside, but Balor trips him and gloats. Street Profits take out him and Priest as Ripley gets back in the ring and looks for Riptide. Tozawa escapes and sends her into the ring post shoulder first. He ascends to the top and looks for a senton, but Ripley rolls out of the way and delivers Riptide for the win.
Winner: Rhea Ripley
We then head to a video recapping the United States Title #1 Contenders Match last week and the chaos that ensued afterwards.
We then go backstage to Adam Pearce trying to get ahold of Paul Heyman for an update on his WWE status. Pearce said they had a conversation earlier this week and it’s only a matter of time before he comes back. MVP walks in and asks for a moment of his time. Pearce says they should go to his office, but before they can, a referee runs in and says he’s needed. They run off, with Kelley following.
Tag Team Match
Good Brothers vs. Alpha Academy
Luke Gallows & Chad Gable lock up to get this match started before they exchange submissions before Karl Anderson delivers a shoulder tackle and an arm drag. Gallows tags in and fires off several right hands in the corner. He follows it up with an uppercut, then tags in Anderson. Anderson targets Gable’s arm, then tags in Gallows. Gallows delivers a right hand, then tags in Otis. Gallows takes Otis down that takes us to a break.
We are back from the break Gable delivers a dragon screw, then locks in the Ankle Lock. Anderson escapes and tags in Gallows. Gallows delivers a clothesline and a big boot, then follows it up with a back body drop. Otis makes the blind tag and delivers a clothesline, followed by a splash in the corner. Gable tags in and delivers a big boot. Anderson tags in and they hit Magic Killer for the win.
Winners: Good Brothers
After the match The Bloodline comes out of nowhere and blindsides The OC with an attack. The Usos deliver 1D to Good Brothers before Adam Pearce and a bunch of officials head down to the ring.
Jey Uso says The Bloodline is now in Des Moines. Jimmy Uso tells everyone to open their ears and says they’re staying in the middle of the ring because they run the business. Sami Zayn asks Pearce what his problem is because he’s the only person that’s angry. Zayn says fans love to see them and says he doesn’t appreciate Pearce rushing his dawgs. He tells Pearce what he sees tonight is just a small place. Officials begin to surround the ring as Jey says everyone else in the locker room is the twos while they’re the ones.
The Usos and Zayn then leave the ring as they hold up the one symbol. As they make their way up the ramp. Styles comes out of nowhere and attacks Zayn before officials separate the two men.
We get a recap of the Raw Women’s Title #1 Contenders Match last week.
We then see Styles & Pearce arguing. Styles asks for a match against any of them and Pearce says he can face Zayn.
Byron Sexton is with Alexa Bliss & Raw Women’s Champion Bianca BelAir. Saxton asks Bliss what happened between her & BelAir. BelAir says she’s wondering the same thing and says she doesn’t trust her. Bliss says she doesn’t know, but recounts Bray Wyatt abducting her and the struggles she faced afterwards. She says therapy made her into someone else, and her friendship with BelAir & Asuka helped her get through it. BelAir says she hears her and sympathizes with her, but says she doesn’t believe she doesn’t fully understand what happened. Bliss says she’s making this about Wyatt and has forgotten about what she was do. The screen glitches with Wyatt’s logo and Bliss clocks her with a vase in the background.
Winner Takes All Ladder Match
Dexter Lumis vs. The Miz
Dexter Lumis clocks The Miz with a right hand. He sends him into a ladder, then brings it into the ring. He launches one end of the ladder into his face, then rams it into his stomach and sets it up in the corner. He sends Miz into it face first, then traps him in the corner with the ladder. He gets Miz on the top rope, then steps on the ladder and delivers a superplex. He sets up the ladder under the cash, but instead of climbing it, he sends it crashing into his crotch. Lumis sets up a 2nd ladder and climbs it, but Miz meets him there and looks to unhook the cash. Lumis prevents him from doing so by hitting right hands and looks to unhook it, but Miz keeps him from doing so. Lumis stares him down before Miz sends them both crashing off of it that sends us to a break.
After the break Lumis tries to unhook the money, but Miz keeps him from doing so. Lumis knocks Miz off the ladder and looks to unhook the money, but Miz knocks down the ladder. He then climbs it and goes to unhook the money, but Lumis drags him off it. Miz hits a neckbreaker onto the middle rope, then grabs a ladder and repeatedly throws it onto Lumis. He opens it up and sandwiches Lumis inside, then hits him with it a few times. He throws another ladder, several steel chairs and an office chair on top of him.
Johnny Gargano jumps Miz, but Miz gains the upper hand and tosses him into the barricade. He then hits him with a ladder to send him into the crowd before Lumis sits up and delivers a sit out side slam on top of the ladder. Lumis then spots the big ladder next to the announce table. He places Miz on top of the desk, then climbs to the top and goes flying off it, but Miz rolls out of the way and Lumis goes crashing through the announce table.
Miz gets back in the ring and climbs a ladder, but Lumis meets him there and pushes him off. He then looks to unhook the money, but Bronson Reed appears out of nowhere and attacks him. He tosses him into the ladder, then ascends to the top and delivers a Frog Splash. He then helps Miz climb up the ladder and retrieve the cash.
Winner: The Miz
AJ Styles vs. Sami Zayn
AJ Styles fires off several chops and right hands. He sends Sami Zayn face first into the top turnbuckle, then follows it up with a backbreaker and a boot to his midsection. He delivers a pumphandle gutbuster combo before Zayn rolls out of the ring. Styles meets him there with a Phenomenal Forearm, then tosses him back in the ring before Zayn sends him face bouncing off the top rope. He rains down right hands, then whips him into the turnbuckle and delivers an elbow off the middle rope. Styles delivers a backbreaker, then follows it up with a neckbreaker. Styles knocks Zayn to the outside, then delivers a moonsault reverse DDT combo. He tosses Zayn back in the ring, then looks for the Phenomenal Forearm, but Zayn sends him crashing to the outside off the ropes that sends us to a commercial break.
After the break Styles plants Zayn with a Rack Bomb. He sets up for the Styles Clash, but Zayn escapes and delivers a big boot. He follows it up with a Brainbuster, then goes for a pin but Zayn kicks out. The two men fire off right hands and kicks on one another before Styles manages to deliver a pele kick. Zayn sends Styles in the corner, then charges at him, but Styles rolls through and locks in the Calf Crusher. Zayn manages to grab the bottom rope to break the hold as Solo Sikoa heads to the ring through the crowd. Styles sets up for the Phenomenal Forearm, but sees Sikoa coming towards him and beats him down. He sends Zayn’s head into the desk, then tosses him back in the ring before Sikoa takes a cheap shot. This allows Zayn to execute the Blue Thunder Bomb for the win.
Winner: Sami Zayn (Recommend)
After the match Adam Pearce heads to the ring and escorts them to the back to talk.
Seth Rollins welcomes fans to Monday Night Rollins, then addresses The Bloodline. He says they’ve jumped everyone but him, then tells Roman Reigns that Monday nights belong to him and not Reigns.
United States Champion Austin Theory’s music then hits and he heads to the ring. He tells Rollins that nothing belongs to him, then says he was the one who said the United States Title was the title of Raw. He says that can only mean one thing: the champ is here. He says the Austin Theory era is here and it’s only the beginning. He tells Rollins he will pass the torch to him and if he doesn’t then he will steal it from him. Rollins calls him a kid before Theory says the only reason Rollins is standing is because Lashley took his anger out on referees and officials. He calls Rollins lucky. Rollins asks why he’s so angry and says he has it all. He says he’s grown up and is no longer daddy’s little boy then says that he will never be him as long as he’s here. He tells Theory he isn’t on his level.
Theory asks how many times he’s fumbled the ball, then says Rollins has already reached the mountain top. He says he will reach Everest, then calls him the 3rd most successful member of The Shield. Rollins says Theory has it wrong and says he is the mountain top. He says the man makes the title, then tells him to find out what kind of man he is right here.
Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos then head to the ring through the crowd. Rollins tells Theory they’ll deal with their issues later as the two prepare to take them out. Theory then rolls out of the ring and retreats as Rollins begins brawling with The Usos. The Usos get the better of him and deliver several stomps before Kevin Owens’ music hits and he heads to the ring to aid Rollins. Owens tosses Jimmy into the barricade as Rollins takes care of Jey and knocks him out of the ring.
Becky Lynch vs. Bayley
Match starts off with a lock up beforethey exchange submissions before Bayley delivers a shoulder tackle and a kick to her midsection. Becky Lynch rolls up Bayley but Bayley kicks out. Lynch delivers an arm drag, then looks for Dis Arm Her. Bayley escapes, then sends her to the mat and delivers a kick to her midsection. Lynch fires back with a shoulder tackle, then delivers a clothesline and another kick. Bayley rolls to the outside before Lynch delivers a right hand off the apron. She tosses Bayley back in the ring, then sends her face first into the middle rope that sends us to a break.
After the break Bayley delivers a belly 2 belly suplex. Lynch fires back with a series of right hands to her midsection, then follows it up with a kick. They exchange forearms before Lynch gains the upperhand and delivers a kick using the ropes. She hits the Bexploder, then delivers a kick to Bayley’s neck and a leg drop. Bayley fires back with a side suplex, then delivers a sliding lariat to Lynch’s back. Lynch delivers an inverted DDT, then goes for a pin. Bayley kicks out and Lynch delivers a kick to Bayley’s midsection. Bayley delivers Bayley 2 Belly, then goes for a pin but Lynch kicks out.
Lynch slaps Bayley, then delivers a modified Angle Slam. Lynch delivers a back elbow, then ascends to the top turnbuckle. Lynch delivers Diamond Dust, then goes for a pin but Bayley kicks out. Bayley manages to roll up Lynch, but the referee catches her feet on the ropes. Women’s Tag Team Champions Dakota Kai & Iyo Sky pulls Bayley out of the ring before Lynch delivers the baseball slide and the referee ejects Kai & Sky from the ringside. While the referee is distracted by trying to get Kai & Sky to leave ringside, Bayley clocks Lynch with the monitor and follows it up with Rose Plant for the win.
Winner: Bayley (Recommend)
After the break, we head backstage to Seth Rollins & Kevin Owens. Owens says the past is the past and all that matters tonight is taking down The Bloodline.
Non Title Match
Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos vs. Kevin Owens & Seth Rollins
Kevin Owens & Seth Rollins waste no tie and go straight to work attacking The Usos. The bell rings and Rollins sends Jey Uso into the top turnbuckle face first. He rains down right hands, then delivers a back elbow. Owens tags in and delivers a right hand to Jey’s face. Jey fires back with a kick to his spine.
After the break Jimmy delivers a series of shoulders to Owens’ midsection. Owens plants him and tags in Rollins. Jey tags in and Rollins delivers a pair of lariats. He follows it up with a slingblade and a forearm, then delivers a backbreaker. Jimmy tags in and Rollins nails him with a superkick. Rollins ascends to the top and delivers a high crossbody, then tags in Owens. Owens climbs to the top and delivers a Frog Splash, then goes for a pin but Jimmy kicks out. Owens looks for a Swanton Bomb off the top, but Jimmy gets his knees up.
Solo Sikoa comes to ringside through the crowd, but Good Brothers beat him down. Jey takes them out before Rollins nails him with a suicide dive and a Curb Stomp. He sends Sikoa into the ring post. Jimmy & Owens teeter on the top rope as Theory comes out of nowhere and hits Rollins with the United States Title. Owens pushes Jimmy off the top rope, allowing Jimmy to deliver a superkick. Owens delivers a kick to his face, then follows it up with the Pop Up Powerbomb for the win.
Winners: Kevin Owens & Seth Rollins (Recommend)
After the match Sami Zayn tries to ambush Owens with an attack but Owens catches him and Zayn leaves the ring.
