It’s Wednesday night, and you know what that means …

All Elite Wrestling returns from the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas with this week’s “Winter Is Coming” themed episode of AEW Dynamite.

On tap for tonight’s installment of the two-hour AEW on TBS television program is 8 time World Champion Chris Jericho in action, The House of Black in action and Ruby Soho vs. Tay Melo.

Also scheduled is Death Triangle (2) vs. The Elite (1) in match four of their Best of 7 Series, and the main event for the AEW Championship between MJF and Ricky Starks.

AEW DYNAMITE: WINTER IS COMING RESULTS (12/14/2022)

This week’s special Winter Is Coming themed edition of the show kicks off with the usual Dynamite theme and accompanying video. We shoot inside the arena where Excalibur welcomes us to the show.

Match No. 4 Of Best Of 7 Series
The Elite vs. Death Triangle

The camera pans the venue and settles at the commentary section where we see Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Taz. They mention a monumental night of action capped off by MJF vs. Ricky Starks.

After running down some more action on the show, we shoot to the ring where we gear up for our opening action, which will see The Elite taking on Death Triangle in match four of the Best of 7 series for the AEW Trios Championships.

On that note, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks make their way out and head to the ring. They settle inside and do their three-way pose as the fans in Garland pop.

Now the theme for their opponents plays and out comes AEW Trios Champions, Death Triangle. PAC and The Lucha Bros head to the ring as Tony Schiavone commend both teams on having cool ring entrances.

Don Callis joins the gang on commentary as the bell sounds to get this one off-and-running. Excalibur talks about the odds being against The Elite as they enter match four down two to one against Death Triangle.

Nick Jackson and Penta kick things off for their respective teams. We see some good back-and-forth offense from these two, with neither man establishing an offensive advantage over the other early on.

The commentators talk about Nick Jackson’s aggressive offensive style early on, bringing up PAC working with a face-mask due to suffering a busted nose earlier in this series.

Kenny Omega tags in and picks up where Jackson left off. After a big high spot on the floor, we see The Elite bring the action back into the ring where they remain in firm control thus far.

Doctor Sampson checks on Nick Jackson at ringside while Matt Jackson takes over control of the action inside the ring. Rey Fenix ends up getting involved and he and Penta help PAC jump into the offensive lead. Nick ends up heading to the back with the doctors as we head to a mid-match commercial break.

As we return from the break, we see the action still in progress with The Elite still controlling the fight. Omega takes it to PAC until finally “The Bastard” buys himself some time. The commentators mention Nick Jackson is still in the back with his injury.

With Matt Jackson handled by Death Triangle, we see Omega fed to the lions, dealing with a one-on-three situation. It doesn’t go well for Omega early on, with each of the AEW Trios Champions taking turns beating down “The Cleaner.” Finally, Nick Jackson emerges from the back and limps to the ring.

Omega finally makes it to his corner and he tags in Nick. Nick takes the hot tag and starts taking out everyone in sight, bum-wheel and all. We see the hammer once again used by Death Triangle, this time behind the ref’s back, setting up the ankle lock and tap out from Nick. Death Triangle gets the win to go up to a three to one advantage in the best of seven series.

Kenny Omega Offers No DQ Ruling For Next Match

Once the match wraps up, Omega gets on the mic and says there will be enough talking tonight so he’s gonna make this quick and direct. He tells PAC and The Lucha Bros he wants to make the hammer legal in their fifth match in the Best of 7 Series. He says they’ll make all weapons legal. There will be no rules. He says it will be no DQ.

MJF Addresses Ricky Starks Ahead Of Tonight’s Match

We shoot to Alex Marvez, who is standing by with MJF in the interview zone. He talks about people calling Ricky Starks’ last segment on AEW programming a “star making performance.”

He calls himself a star-maker and tells Starks he’s welcome for the rub. He mocks Starks’ upbringing and says he came up easy and he’s not apologizing for it. MJF says he has no pressure tonight, but Ricky Starks does.

The Acclaimed Attacked By “The Last Outlaw” And Co.

We return from a commercial break to The Acclaimed coming out. The AEW Tag-Team Champions Max Caster and Anthony Bowens head out with Caster rapping about Elon Musk getting booed and international prisoner trades before being attacked from behind by Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh and Sonjay Dutt, along with “The Last Outlaw” Jeff Jarrett, who breaks a guitar over Max Caster’s dome. Jarrett gets on the mic afterwards and asks if they have The Acclaimed’s attention now. He says, “Scissor this, slap-nut!”

Jericho Appreciation Society Talk Title Losses

We shoot to Tony Schiavone who is in the interview zone with the Jericho Appreciation Society. Chris Jericho tells Daniel Garcia to shadow Sammy Guevara for the blueprint on how to carry yourself after he lost his ROH Pure Championship. Guevara says he’s gonna kick Jon Moxley’s ass on Friday at Rampage. Chris Jericho says he’s gonna take his frustrations out on some jobber tonight en route to getting his ROH Championship back from Claudio Castagnoli.

Brian Cage vs. Jungle Boy Jack Perry

We head back inside the arena where “The Machine” Brian Cage makes his way to the ring with The Embassy. He settles inside and his music dies down.

Now the theme for his opponent plays and out comes Jungle Boy Jack Perry. The crowd gives him a great reaction in Garland, TX. The bell sounds and we’re off-and-running with this one.

In the early goings, it is Cage dominating the action with relative ease, stopping every so often to gloat and do muscle poses to the crowd. We head to a mid-match commercial break as “The Machine” continues to dominate.

As we return from the break, we see Cage still in control but not for long, as Jungle Boy Jack Perry begins fighting his way back into competitive form. He takes over on offense and hits a big DDT that plants Cage face-first into the mat.

The action continues with Cage taking back over on offense. Jungle Boy reverses a move into a pin attempt but Cage kicks out. Cage ends up getting countered by Perry for a close near fall. He puts the snare trap on but the referee is distracted. Jungle Boy ends up rolling Cage up moments later anyways and scoring the pin.

Winner: Jungle Boy Jack Perry

Big Bill Morrissey & Co. Attack Jungle Boy Jack Perry

Once the match wraps up, Jungle Boy calls out Big Bill. Out comes Stokely Hathaway talking trash. Jungle Boy goes after him but is attacked by Lee Moriarty as well as Big Bill Morrissey. They beat him down in the ring and leave him laying.

Eventually the lights go out and when they come back on, “The Cold Hearted Handsome Devil” Hook’s theme hits. The crowd goes nuts and Hook heads to the ring and clears house of everyone.

The Blackpool Combat Club Are Alive And Well

We shoot to Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta standing together. Mox talks about their recent successes and how it proves the Blackpool Combat Club is still alive and well. He says 2023 they are putting everyone on notice. Castagnoli and Yuta say as much as well.

Mox vows to stomp Guevara’s face in and leave it a bloody mess on Rampage. He tells “Hangman” Adam Page he knows where to find him if he wants some. They wrap up on that note and then we head to another commercial break.

Shane “Swerve” Strickland With A Message For Keith Lee

We return to a message from Shane “Swerve” Strickland who vows to confront Keith Lee next week in San Antonio after their recent interaction at the ROH Final Battle 2022 pay-per-view.

The House Of Black vs. The Factory

We see Malakai Black, Brody King and Buddy Matthews make their way to the ring accompanied by Julia Hart. They settle inside the ring where QT Marshall, Aaron Solo and Cole Karter are waiting.

The bell sounds and we’re off-and-running with this AEW Trios showdown. Julia Hart sprays mist in the eyes of Nick Comoroto and then both teams break out and begin brawling to get this one officially underway.

QT wouldn’t run after The Factory were taken out one-by-one at ringside. He walks into a roundhouse kick from Malakai, who knocks him out and makes the cover for the pin fall victory.

AEW Women’s Division Updates

Jamie Hayter and Hikaru Shida exchange words in a video package that airs to promote their showdown for the AEW Women’s World Championship on next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

We return to Renee Paquette standing by with Britt Baker and Rebel. Baker is confronted and challenged to a match on this week’s Rampage by Skye Blue. Baker accepts.

Chris Jericho vs. Action Andretti

It’s time for Chris Jericho’s match against the jobber that he mentioned earlier in the show, as “The Ocho” makes his way out as the fans sing along with his catchy entrance tune.

The leader of the J.A.S. settles inside the squared circle for our next match here on the Winter Is Coming edition of AEW Dynamite on TBS here in the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, TX.

Already in the ring is his opponent, announced as Action Andretti. The bell sounds and we’re off-and-running with this one. Jericho dominates the match from the word “go,” with Andretti getting one offensive sequence before Jericho ultimately cuts him off and takes back over on offense.

The fans try and rally behind him with a “Let’s go jobber!” chant and it helps, as Jericho hits his finisher but Andretti kicks out before the count of three. We head to a mid-match commercial break as the crowd goes nuts.

We return from the break to Andretti still hanging on and the fans still chanting for him. Jericho, meanwhile, continues to beat him down and play to the crowd. Andretti fires up and chops away at Jericho, who pokes him in the eye and elbows him. He taunts the crowd after that.

Andretti hits a flying lariat and another. He hits a back-breaker into a neck-breaker and the crowd explodes. He heads to the top-rope but comes off with a split-legged moonsault onto the waiting knees of “The Ocho.”

Jericho goes for the Judas Effect but Andretti ducks it and rolls him up. Jericho kicks out. Andretti rocks him with an enzugiri and lariat to the floor. He follows that up with a high spot that nearly blows the roof off the Curtis Culwell Center. The fans follow up with a “Holy sh*t” chant.

Finally, Jericho hooks the legs of Andretti and goes for the Walls of Jericho, only for Andretti to counter into a pin. Jericho kicks out. Andretti hits a running shooting star press and goes for the cover. 1-2-3. Andretti wins!

Ricky Starks With A Message For MJF Ahead Of Tonight’s Match

Now we shoot to the interview zone where Ricky Starks has a message for MJF ahead of their showdown for the AEW Championship later on in tonight’s special Winter Is Coming 2022 edition of AEW Dynamite.

Starks talks about paying his dues for years and how it all comes to a head tonight. He says he made a star making performance for himself last week and says he’s been doing it since day one. He says people care about seeing him stomp MJF’s maxi-pad-ass tonight.

The Gunn Club Has FTR’s Attention

We head to a commercial break after the Ricky Starks promo. When we return, we see FTR addressing their double dog collar match with The Briscoes and the subsequent post-match attack from “The Ass Boys” — The Gunn Club — Austin and Colten Gunn. FTR claims that they have their attention now.

Chris Jericho Throws A Fit

Now we see a live shot of “The Ocho” screaming and throwing a hissy fit to end all hissy fits after his shocking loss to Action Andretti moments ago.

Tay Melo vs. Ruby Soho

We hear the J.A.S. tag and then Tay Melo’s name is said and out she comes with Sammy Guevara. They do their big entrance together and then Melo heads to the ring for this one-on-one women’s showdown.

As she settles inside the ring her music dies down. Now “Ruby Soho” by Rancid plays and out comes Ruby Soho for this singles contest.

Melo attacks Soho as she hops on the ring apron to do her entrance pose to the crowd. The brawl ensues around the ringside area where Melo continues to beat Soho down before the bell even sounds to formally start the match.

Finally we see the referee checking on a beaten down Soho in the corner while Melo waits in the other. The bell then sounds and this match now gets off and running for real.

Soho stops Melo from walking off to the back in an attempt to quit. She goes for a move on the entrance ramp, but Melo counters and DDT’s Soho face-first into the ramp as we head to a mid-match commercial break.

When we return from the break, we see Soho fighting back into competitive form. Things build to a spot where Anna Jay hits the ring and the two attack Soho brutally, leaving her laying.

Winner via DQ: Ruby Soho

“Hangman” Adam Page With A Message For Jon Moxley

Alex Marvez is with “Hangman” Adam Page. They talk to him and he mentions how he was unconscious and how he was answering questions from medics until finally getting them right. He says he was shown a photo of his son and he didn’t know his name.

For a whole hour he didn’t know his name. He says if Jon Moxley wants to fight on Friday, that’s fine. He says if he tempts him and threatens to take him to hell, he’s gonna take him with him.

Dustin Rhodes Is With The Best Friends

Dustin Rhodes is with The Best Friends, Orange Cassidy and Danhausen. They mention a big match on AEW Rampage and then Excalibur chimes in with more updates on the lineup for Friday’s show. He plugs tonight’s AEW Championship main event and then we head to another commercial break.

AEW Championship & Dynamite Diamond Ring
MJF (C) vs. Ricky Starks

As we return from the commercial break, we hear Excalibur confirm the no DQ ruling for the best of seven series match number five showdown between The Elite and Death Triangle for next week’s show.

From there, the theme for the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale 2022 winner plays. Ricky Starks makes his way to the ring to a huge pop from the fans in Texas.

“Absolute” settles inside the ring and now the theme hits to bring out the reigning, defending AEW World Champion — Maxwell Jacob Friedman. MJF gets a ton of boos from the fans inside the Curtis Culwell Center.

It’s main event time here on AEW Dynamite, as MJF battles Ricky Starks with the AEW Championship on-the-line, as is the Dynamite Diamond Ring. Justin Roberts handles the formal pre-match ring introductions for this championship contest.

The bell sounds and we’re off-and-running with our final match of the evening here on the AEW Winter Is Coming 2022 special themed edition of Dynamite on TBS. MJF rolls out to the floor and stalls and the fans get on his case. He rolls back in and these two close in on each other to start this headline bout off nose-to-nose.

MJF out-shines Starks early on, stopping and doing the “Absolute” pose before once again out-shining him by strutting over him as he lay face down on the mat. MJF rolls out to the floor to avoid the fight at one point, throwing some pop corn in the face of a fan as he continues to walk further away.

Finally, Friedman brings himself back into the ring and the action continues. Starks starts to get in some offense now, and MJF isn’t liking it. Starks rolls MJF up a few times but MJF kicks out each time.

We see MJF sneak a thumb to the eye of Starks to shift the offensive momentum back in his favor. He does so as the referee was between the two trying to get a clean break in the corner of the ring. On this note, we head to a mid-match commercial break as the match continues.

As we settle back in from the break, we see Starks fighting back. He hits a Liger Bomb and goes for the cover, however MJF manages to kick out before the count of three. The match continues.

Starks looks for the Ro-Sham-Bo, but MJF avoids it. He looks for the Salt of the Earth armbar, but doesn’t get it. The two counter each other over and over again. Starks is power bombed over MJF’s knee for a close near fall.

MJF starts to dominate again and he begins foot-shoving the head and smacking the face of Starks. He does this over and over again and Starks fires back with a flurry. The two exchange in the middle of the ring like Don Frye and Yoshihiro Takayama from PRIDE FC days in Japan.

We see MJF lock in the Salt of the Earth armbar on Starks, who screams out in pain. MJF bites at the hand while yanking back on the arm. Starks ends up getting his foot on the ropes to break the hold.

Ricky Starks goes for the Ro-Sham-Bo but MJF avoids it. He grabs the ref and hides behind him, which allows him to sneak in a low blow, which was a match-finisher. MJF follows up with the victory and with the win, he retains the AEW World Championship and the Dynamite Diamond Ring.

Bryan Danielson Wants Revenge On MJF

Once the match wraps up, we see MJF celebrating the win when the theme for Bryan Danielson hits. “The American Dragon” comes out to get revenge on MJF for his attack of William Regal but MJF runs through the crowd to avoid him. Danielson helps Starks up in the ring afterwards and that’s how this week’s show goes off the air. Thanks for joining us!
