WWE RAW Results – October 3, 2022
Kicking off this week’s Raw with Judgment Day makes their way to the ring.
Finn Balor says that Edge was forced to quit wrestling 11 years ago, but he fought his way back to performing in the ring. Balor says that as with most things in life, you can only outrun fate for so long. He says that at Extreme Rules, he will act as the cruel hand of fate. He says that he’ll do Edge a favor by beating him so badly, he’ll be forced to say I Quit. Damian Priest says that should serve as a notice to anyone who wants to step to Judgment Day because they will always rise. Dominik Mysterio then tells his father that he hates him. He says he has a new family now before Balor addresses AJ Styles. Balor says he could’ve ended his career last week, but he chose not to because he’s his friend. He says the olive branch is still extended and tells him not to make him do bad things.
Tag Team Match
Judgement Day vs. Rey Mysterio & AJ Styles
Judgement Day & Rey Mysterio & AJ Styles brawl with one another before the bell. Dominik pulls Balor out of the ring before Rey hits a hurricanrana. AJ Styles hits a Phenomenal Forearm on Priest that takes us to a break.
After the break Rey delivers a hurricanrana to Balor. He delivers a kick to Balor’s head, followed by a seated senton. Priest tags in and hits Priest with several forearms. Rey looks for a crossbody, but Priest ducks out of the way. He delivers a back elbow in the corner before Balor tags back in. He hits the 3 Amigos, then goes for a pin but Rey kicks out. Balor slides Rey under the bottom rope and to the outside before Rhea Ripley mocks him. He teases sending Rey through the announce desk before sending him face first into the apron. Balor tags back in and hits Rey with several kicks to his back and shoulder. He delivers a snapmare, then hits a knee. Rey delivers a bulldog, then makes the hot tag to Styles. Priest tags in and Styles takes him down. He delivers a sliding forearm, followed by a splash and a chop. He hits a pele kick on Priest, then looks for the Styles Clash, but Priest pushes him out of the ring that takes us to a another break.
After the break Balor tags in Priest. Judgement Day hits a backbreaker leg drop combination before Priest goes for a pin. Styles kicks out and Priest locks in a leg crucifix. Styles counters it into a pin but Priest kicks out. Priest delivers a right hand, but Styles fires back with a kick to his head. Styles looks to make the tag to Rey, but Ripley pulls him off the apron. Priest delivers a clothesline before tagging Balor. Judgement Day try to double team on Styles, but Styles hits a double DDT on them. On the outside, Rey & Dominik face off. Dominik tells his father to hit him before Ripley takes him down with a clothesline back in the ring. Balor hits the Coup De Grace for the win.
Winners: Judgement Day
After the match, Rey tries helping Styles up but Styles doesn’t let him then they get into a yelling match before Styles shoves Rey to the mat. Judgment Day then attacks Styles from behind with kicks and right hands. Priest delivers South Of Haven as Judgment Day stands tall.
We head backstage from earlier today of the United States Champion Bobby Lashley entering the arena. Kevin Patrick approaches him and asks what’s next for him. Lashley says he will not be complacent and says that his mentality will never change. He says he’s beaten the best the industry has to offer and says he wants someone who has the same mentality as him. Mustafa Ali walks in and says he’s done waiting for someone to call him. He says he’s stepping up to the front of the line. Lashley says that he’ll make sure he gets his opportunity before Ali says that he’s demanding his opportunity. Lashley says that he has his opportunity.
We are back from the break we go backstage to The Bloodline where Sami Zayn is telling Jimmy Uso a funny story & Solo Sikoa stands there trying not to laugh. Jey Uso walks in and asks what’s so funny. Zayn says he had to be there before Jey says they’re there to do business. The Bloodline run into the Street Profits as Zayn says that next week on the Raw season premiere, Roman Reigns & The Bloodline will be there so they need to be ready to acknowledge him. Montez Ford disrespects Reigns before Angelo Dawkins steps in. Solo Sikoa gets in his face and says he’ll see him out there.
Non Title Match
United States Champion Bobby Lashley vs. Mustafa Ali
Match starts off with Bobby Lashley tosses Mustafa Ali across the ring with a suplex then he delivers several shoulders to Ali’s midsection, followed by a cutter and a delayed vertical suplex. Ali delivers a knee, followed by a chop and a superkick. He hits a Tornado DDT off the top rope before Lashley rolls to the outside. Ali hits a tope suicida, followed by a kick. Lashley delivers a vicious clothesline to Ali that sends us to a commercial break.
After the commercial break, Lashley delivers a back elbow before whipping Ali into the corner. He sends him to the mat with a flatliner, then goes for a pin but Ali kicks out. Ali manages to pull out a 450 Splash onto Lashley’s arm, followed by a drop kick into the corner and a chokeslam. He goes for a pin, but Ali kicks out at the last second. Lashley sends Ali to the mat off his shoulders, then goes for another pin but Ali kicks out. Ali hits an overhand chop on Lashley, but this gets him fired up and he tosses Ali over the top rope. He sends him into the ring post twice, then throws him into the timekeeper’s area. He gets in the ring as the referee begins the countout. Ali makes it into the ring just before the referee hits 10. Lashley hits Ali with a Spear then locks in the Hurt Lock Ali trys to fight it but he passes out the referee calls for the bell.
Winner By Submission: United States Champion Bobby Lashley
After the match, Lashley goes to help Ali up but Seth Rollins blindsides him with an attack and hits a Curb Stomp, followed by a 2nd one on the United States Title. Rollins then spots Ali and hits him with a Curb Stomp of his own.
We get a fan video of Seth Rollins & Matt Riddle brawling after Raw went off the air last week.
Rollins is in the ring with a mic and says now that he’s cleared Bobby Trashley from the ring, they can get on with the festivities. He welcomes the crowd to Monday Night Rollins before introducing himself. He addresses Matt Riddle and says that the Fight Pit will be synonymous with his name. He then throws it to a video that shows what the Fight Pit is. Rollins says that he will show Riddle what he’s shown Lashley & Cody Rhodes: he’s the most dangerous man in the history of the industry. He then calls Riddle to the ring. His music hits and he comes down.
Rollins tells him to pay his respects to the King of the Fight Pit. Riddle reminds him that he’s never even been in the match before Rollins reiterates the No Contact Clause. Riddle tells him not to worry about that and says he’s there to give him a lesson on the Fight Pit. He says that he’s going to kill him and says the fans will be singing Brooooooo.
Rollins says that Daniel Cormier will have his back and says he has a nice singing voice. He asks if he sings to his kids like that, but says that he can’t because he’s unable to see his kids. Rollins dares him to hit him before saying he needs all the cash he can get because child support is expensive. Riddle says that Rollins’ breath is gross, then asks when the last time he held a title was. He asks when the last time he main evented WrestleMania was, and says he always comes up second. Riddle dares Rollins to hit him.
Daniel Cormier pops up on the titantron and says everyone is tired of their behavior. He introduces himself and addresses both men. He says that a Fight Pit match needs a 3rd man and says he plans to put an end to their issues. He says he’ll see them both in Philadelphia. Rollins then knocks Riddle’s hat off and heads to the back.
We then go backstage to Candice LeRae. She runs into Raw Women’s Champion Bianca BelAir,Alexa Bliss & Asuka who wish her luck in her upcoming match with Dakota Kai.
We head backstage to The Miz. He says that his issues with the lowlife will end tonight. He says he isn’t leaving until he is assured something is done and says nothing will ruin his birthday celebration next week. We see Dexter Lumis spying on him.
Women’s Tag Team Champion Dakota Kai vs. Candice LeRae
Match starts off with Dakota Kai pushes Candice LeRae into the corner. LeRae rolls up Kai, but Kai kicks out. LeRae hits an arm drag, but Kai whips her into the corner and delivers a knee. LeRae fires back with a dropkick before sending Kai into the top turnbuckle face first. Kai rolls to the outside and LeRae delivers a kick through the bottom rope then she hits a crossbody off the ropes that leads us to a break.
We are back from the break, LeRae hits a back elbow. Kai fires back with a big boot, then goes for a pin but LeRae kicks out. Kai hits several rapid fire kicks on LeRae’s head as she taunts her followed by a Scorpion Kick. LeRae fires back with a kick of her own, followed by a series of forearms and chops. She delivers a back elbow, followed by a snapmare and a step up senton. She goes for a pin but Kai kicks out. LeRae locks in an arm submission, but Kai breaks it up by sending LeRae into the top turnbuckle. Kai hits a boot before they ascend to the middle rope. LeRae hits a German Suplex, but Iyo Sky causes a distraction and Bayley pushes LeRae off the ropes, leading to Kai rolling up LeRae for the win.
Winner: Women’s Tag Team Champion Dakota Kai
We then head to Johnny Gargano backstage. Dexter Lumis appears for a split second but we then head to a sleeping Miz but when he wakes up, he’s holding a caricature of himself & Lumis.
Otis vs. Johnny Gargano
Johnny Gargano hits a couple of forearms. Otis whips Gargano into the corner but Gargano fires off several more forearms. Otis hits a chop that sends Gargano to the mat, followed by a bodyslam and a Canadian backbreaker. Gargano delivers a boot, then sends Otis into the ringpost shoulder first. Gargano delivers an enziguri, followed by a back elbow. Otis hits a suplex, then looks for a splash out of the corner but Gargano rolls out of the way. He hits a couple of kicks to his head, but Otis delivers a clothesline. Otis gets Gargano up, but Gargano reverses it into a DDT. He delivers a superkick then goes for a cover but Otis kicks out. Otis rolls to the outside before Gargano hits a tope suicida and takes down Theory. He hits a tornado DDT, and while the referee is distracted Austin Theory hits Gargano from behind with the Money In The Bank briefcase then Otis drills Gargano to the mat with the Worlds Strongest Slam to get the victory.
Winner: Otis
After the match All Day Academy beat down Gargano. Braun Strowman’s music hits and he heads down. He levels Otis and while Theory manages to escape, he drags Gable into the ring before tossing him onto Otis.
Braun Strowman vs. Chad Gable
Chad Gable fires off several right hands on Strowman. We see Omos watching on as Gable fires off right hands. Strowman sits Gable on the top rope before Gable escapes and delivers a kick to his knee. He hits a missile dropkick but Strowman manages to pull out a powerbomb for the win.
Winner: Braun Strowman
We come back from break we go to the trainers room where the United States Champion Bobby Lashley is being checked on by medical personnel. Kevin Patrick approaches and asks how he’s doing. Lashley says he’s going to crush Seth Rollins next week and put his United States Title on the line so there’s no excuses.
Corey Graves then offers up the contract for their match. Bayley mockingly asks how she feels and says her plan has been going according to plan. She says that she left her girls in the back as a favor before singing her name on the dotted line. She says that her ego got her into this mess and says the ladder is symbolic of her entire WWE career. She says she’s had to climb and climb her way to the top and in the process, she was like her with her ponytail. She says the signs used to say Bayley and little girls dressed up as her. She says that the signs and t shirts changed over time and the cheers faded. She says fans stopped caring as her career spiraled. She says she had to climb her way back to the top.
Bianca BelAir cuts her off and signs her name on the contract. Graves leaves the ring as BelAir says Bayley continues to run her mouth. She says that the chip on her shoulder has nothing to do with her and she will never be like her. BelAir says that everything she did didn’t work because she was pretending to be someone she wasn’t. She says fans connect to her because she’s her authentic self all the time and says she stays ready so she doesn’t have to get ready. She says that since she likes planning, she should plan to still call her Raw Women’s Champion after Extreme Rules.
Bayley asks how her girls are and we cut to Iyo Sky & Dakota Kai attacking Alexa Bliss & Asuka backstage. Bayley leaps across the table and throws BelAir across it. BelAir whips Bayley into the apron and runs to check on Bliss & Asuka. She asks if they’re okay and we see Asuka crying out in pain as her chair is caught in a chair. Bliss then challenges Sky to a match later tonight.
Corey Graves, Jimmy Smith & Bryon Sexton runs down the Extreme Rules card.
Angelo Dawkins vs. Solo Sikoa
Match begins with Angelo Dawkins & Solo Sikoa lock up. Siko pushes Dawkins into the corner, but Dawkins fires back with a dropkick. Sikoa rolls to the outside that sends us to a commercial break.
After the commerical break Sikoa is beating down Dawkins. Dawkins fires back with several rights and lefts, but Sikoa takes him down with a Samoan Drop. Sikoa delivers a series of right hands to Dawkins’ head, followed by another Samona Drop. He goes for a pin, but Dawkins kicks out. He knocks Dawkins down to the mat after whipping him into the corner, then locks in a shoulder submission. Dawkins escapes and Sikoa delivers a few knees. He hits a belly 2 belly followed by a hip attack. Dawkins hits an enziguri out of nowhere, followed by a pair of clotheslines. Sikoa stops his momentum, but he manages to pull out a back elbow and a kick. He hits a fallaway slam, then goes for a pin but Sikoa kicks out. While The Bloodline distracts the referee, Sikoa hits a superkick. He goes for a pin, but Dawkins kicks out. Sikoa yells at them and Dawkins takes advantage, rolling him up. Sikoa kicks out and Dawkins knocks him to the outside. Zayn & Jey begin to argue on the outside before Dawkins takes them down. Sikoa hits a Samoan Drop, followed by the Spinning Solo for the win.
Winner: Solo Sikoa
We head backstage to Otis & Mr Money In The Bank Austin Theory. He asks where Chad Gable is and he walks in, battered from his match earlier tonight. He says that he will end Gargano once and for all next week, before continuing with A Town, down.
We head to a video of Edge. He says that he’s been transparent since coming back and by the time he had to make the choice whether or not to come back, he was 46 years old. He says that his decision is not just hard on him, but his family. He discusses the ways in which it’s affecting his wife and daughters. He addresses Judgment Day and says he knows what he has to do: be a one man gang. He tells Finn Balor that he’s facing someone he’s never seen before and Judgment Day can’t physically hurt him enough to say I Quit.
Commentary then run down the card for next week’s Raw.
Women’s Tag Team Champion Iyo Sky vs. Alexa Bliss
Iyo Sky wastes no time, delivering a dropkick to Alexa Bliss. Sky hits a knee, but Bliss fires back with a pair of shoulder tackles. She fires off lefts and rights before Sky delivers a dragon screw. Bliss delivers a forearm and a dropkick. She delivers a double knees to Sky then goes for a pin but Sky kicks out then they spill to the outside.
After the commerical break Bliss delivers a clothesline, followed by a knee. He goes for a pin, but Sky kicks out. Sky delivers a pump kick, followed by a backbreaker. Bliss delivers a DDT, then goes for a pin but Sky kicks out. She hits Twister Bliss, then goes for a pin but Bayley causes a distraction. BelAir pulls her off the apron, but her & Kai swarm her and send her into the ring steps. Bliss ascends to the top rope but Sky meets her there and counters with an Air Raid Crash then hits the Over the Moonsault for the win.
Winner: Women’s Tag Team Champion Iyo Sky
After the match Damage CTRL beat down Bliss. Kai grabsa ladder from under the ring, but BelAir levels Bayley. Kai & Sky hit BelAir with the ladder, but Asuka limps her way down to the ring with a kendo stick in hand. She hits Kai with it, but Kai & Sky hit her with the ladder. They sandwich Bliss into the ladder and smash it as the show goes off the air. They go after BelAir before Bayley grabs BelAir’s Raw Women’s Title. Damage CTRL ascend up the ladder and hold up their titles
