It’s Wednesday night, and you know what that means …
All Elite Wrestling returns from the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York for this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite.
On tap for the weekly two-hour AEW on TBS television program this evening is the fallout from ALL OUT, the ROH Pure Championship with Wheeler Yuta defending against Daniel Garcia, Chris Jericho will address the AEW Galaxy, new Interim AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm squares off against Penelope Ford in a title eliminator, Tony Khan will open up the show with announcements on the AEW Championship and AEW Trios Championships and more.

AEW DYNAMITE RESULTS (9/7/2022)
The show opens with a special video package that features Tony Khan’s voice mail to MJF revealing the special deal he offered to him to get out of his contract with the promotion.
As the audio plays, we see footage from ALL OUT that shows him returning as The Joker and winning the Casino Ladder Match wearing a mask, which he refused to take off until the conclusion of the broadcast.
From there, we shoot inside the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York where the commentary trio of Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Tazz welcome us to the show. They send things to a special message from Tony Khan.
Tony Khan Makes AEW World & Trios Title Announcements
The AEW President is shown and he reads a statement while talking directly into the camera. He announces that the AEW World Championship and AEW Trios Tag-Team Championships will be decided at the upcoming AEW Grand Slam shows in tournaments.
Khan promises tonight will be a great show and vows to deliver some of the best shows across the next several weeks. We return to the commentary desk where the trio give their thoughts on the announcements from the boss man.
MJF Is Back And …Has Changed? Jon Moxley Wants The Ball
We hear the familiar sounds of the theme for MJF and the winner of the Casino Ladder Match at ALL OUT heads out in a Bills jersey. He runs over and hugs Taz and then heads to the ring while the fans go bonkers with cheers and chants.
MJF drops to his knees and clutches his chest. He then begins speaking by saying, “The Devil is back!” He says the greatest quarterback of all-time, Josh Allen, is from Buffalo. He asks who is happy to see him back. He then responds to some chants from fans and says he was just joking. He says he didn’t mean it when he called all the AEW fans stupid marks.
The fans continue cheering and he says now it’s time to address the big, fat smelly elephant in the room. He tells a woman in the audience that he is not talking about her. He brings up the title being vacated.
He continues, bringing up that he likes to work smart, not hard and says he’s got a chip that tells him he can have a title shot whenever he wants. He says because of that he won’t be involved in the tournament.
He talks about his deal with Tony Khan and AEW paying him a boatload of money and then tells the old story about Moses parting the seas, and says he’s not talking about him because he’s better than him. He says he’s Maxwell Jacob Friedman and he’s better than us …and he knows it.
Jon Moxley’s theme hits and as “Wild Thing” plays we see the former AEW Champion make his custom entrance through the crowd. He heads to the ring through the crowd in the KeyBank Center while MJF hangs around with a look of confusion on his face.
Mox gets on the mic as his music wraps up and he says “you are absolutely full of crap,” as he looks directly into MJF’s eyes. MJF tells ‘Jonathan’ to hold up and then goes on to tell the fans they’re all the biggest pieces of crap in the world. “Oh and Josh Allen sucks.”
He then says he looks at the AEW title as nothing more than a bargaining chip and says he might just take it to a real wrestling company with real fans. He then says that company has people like his friends, “The Human Roller Coaster” Cody Rhodes. He also references Triple H with a mention of being a big fan of “The Game.”
The fans boo and he says that he might just work for the only Khan in the business that matters — good old jolly saint Nick [Khan]. Mox tells him that this isn’t the time nor the place. He demands MJF leave the ring right now or threatens to make him.
MJF takes his shirt off but it gets stuck on his hand / wrist. As he tugs at it, the fans laugh and he yells for them to shut up. He hooks the shirt around the top-rope and yanks some more. After that he eventually leaves and Mox talks about what AEW really stands for. He says the three letters stand for taking the dark and ugly side of this business and letting it die with another generation.
He says it’s about the freedom that you are willing to dare to be. He says the AEW Championship is about being a little bit better than he was the day before, even if it’s only a small amount that nobody notices but himself. He says AEW represents everything that he loves about this business.
The fans break out in a “Moxley! Moxley!” chant. He says the fact remains that on Sunday he lost. He says that’s on him. He says he lost the game-winning shot. He says it’s supposed to be his vacation right now, or at least about two days ago. He says the tournament of champions is another chance to take that shot.
He says it’s a long way to roll up the hill just for another shot but he says it’s a hell of one that he’s willing to take because winners always want the ball when the game is on the line. He says he wants the ball. He says this is the time to be a legend. His theme plays again to end the segment.
AEW Trios Tag-Team Championship
Death Triangle vs. Orange Cassidy & Best Friends
It’s time for the first AEW Trios Tag-Team Championship match in Dynamite history. With that said, out comes the Death Triangle duo of “The Bastard” PAC and The Lucha Bros — Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo. They make their way to the ring accompanied by Alex Abrahantes.
The theme for Orange Cassidy plays and out comes the “Freshly Squeezed” one alongside The Best Friends — Chuck Taylor and Trent Baretta. The three head to the ring to a big pop from the Buffalo crowd.
We hear the bell and it looks like Orange Cassidy and PAC will be starting things off for their respective teams, until PAC tags out and brings Penta in to kick this one off for his team. The two go face-to-face. Penta pie-faces Cassidy, who is still wearing his sunglasses.
Penta then does a dramatic removal of his gloves and gets in Cassidy’s face for another shove. Cassidy takes his sunglasses off and does the big dramatic hand gesture into his pockets. From there, the two finally get this match underway.
This one starts to come unglued as all six men end up in the ring. We see Death Triangle start to take over but only briefly, as Cassidy and Best Friends end up dumping each of them to the floor. Cassidy is rocket-launched over the top rope and onto the trio on the floor for a big splash, Artemis 1 style, and then we head to a mid-match commercial break as the action continues.
We see Chuck Taylor with a big high spot that took place during the break in a replay. Back to live action, we see Fenix taking it to Taylor in the ring as the legal two men in this one. Death Triangle appears to have shifted the momentum into their favor after the early lead established by the opposing trio.
PAC tags in and picks up where Fenix left off, taking it to Chuck. Chuck tries to fight his way back into competitive form and he buys himself some time, but ultimately ends up back on the defensive. We see Danhausen on the apron draw the attention of PAC.
PAC watches as Danhausen and Alex Abrahantes have a back-and-forth gesture-fest. Danhausen pie-faces Abrahantes and then PAC comes out and blasts Danhausen with a big boot. Cassidy hits a big tope suicida through the ropes, splashing onto PAC in the process. Back in the ring, we see Cassidy hit a wild tornado DDT for a close near fall.
PAC hoists Cassidy up for a suplex or brainbuster, but Cassidy counters in mid-air with a Stun-dog millionaire. Trent Baretta tags in but walks right into a back-stabber from Penta, who then joins Fenix in hitting a sandwich splash for a close pin attempt.
Trent hangs on. We see Trent Baretta tag back in after The Best Friends “give the people what they want” and do their big dramatic hug spot, which draws the usual big pop. Cassidy tags back in and hits a big German suplex on PAC before walking into a pump-handle main-eventa from Penta. Chuck runs in and hits a running knee strike.
The fans break out in a loud “This is awesome!” chant after another high spot. Cassidy hits an Orange Punch but then walks into an “awful waffle” for another close pin attempt. Death Triangle hit super kicks at the same time and then all three hit a triple Canadian Destroyer, as Taz points out they’re not that far from Toronto.
The three take turns hitting the ropes to build up a full head of steam before launching over the ropes and out to the floor for splashes on various members of their opposition. PAC heads to the top inside the ring and connects with the Black Arrow for the pin fall. With the win, we already have new AEW Trios Tag-Team Champions — Death Triangle.

The Dark Order Remind Andrade El Idolo They Are Not For Sale
We shoot to the interview zone where Jose The Assistant confronts The Dark Order as they are in an interview segment with Tony Schiavone. He tells them Andrade El Idolo wants their services for some reason and tries forcing a contract on them.
They push him away and repeat what they said on last week’s show about not being for sale. Andrade El Idolo walks up and throws a crutch, which one of them catches. He says they’ll need that and walks off as we head to another commercial break.
Interim AEW Women’s Championship Eliminator
Toni Storm (C) vs. Penelope Ford
We head back to the ring for our next match of the evening, which will be a championship eliminator, with new interim title-holder Toni Storm taking on Penelope Ford.
The two each make their respective entrances and then the bell sounds to get this one off-and-running. After some early back-and-forth action, which includes a loud “Lot 18!” chant from the Buffalo audience, we head to another commercial break as the match continues.
Now we return from the break with the match still in progress and as Excalibur points out and we include in our play-by-play often, the offensive driver’s seat is controlled by Toni Storm who ends up finishing off the interim champion soon after for the victory.

The Acclaimed & Shane “Swerve” Strickland
After a back-and-forth vignette from the J.A.S. duo of Matt Menard and Jeff Parker and the duo of Hook and Action Bronson. We then return inside the arena where The Acclaimed make their way out.
Max Caster does his “listen!” “listen!” preample into his freestyle rap to the ring. He then is interrupted by the theme for Shane “Swerve” Strickland. He comes out talking about lame jokes and delivers one of his own about The Acclaimed being tag-team champions.
Billy Gunn cuts in and says it’s not Shane’s house anymore. Things wrap up shortly after this and we head to another commercial break.
Chris Jericho & J.A.S. Hate Turtles
We return from the break with Tony Schiavone standing by with Chris Jericho, Anna Jay, Tay Melo and Sammy Guevara of the J.A.S. in the interview zone. He talks about the gigantic win he earned over Bryan Danielson at ALL OUT and says he’s now the best wrestler ever, the best sports entertainer ever and says he’s gonna go on to become champion at Grand Slam for the eighth time.
He says AEW is his company, the J.A.S. is his and he’s not giving them up ever. He kicks it to his little brother “The Spanish God” who vows the little turtle ass Darby Allin is getting beat when they meet at AEW Rampage on Friday.
He then says he’s going to leave his little brother Daniel Garcia alone tonight when he goes for his ROH Pure Championship match later tonight against Wheeler Yuta. Jericho says he hates turtles. He then tells Sammy to agree with him about something, but Sammy mentions being distracted with how sexy he and Tay are.
TNT Championship
Wardlow (C) vs. Tony Nese
It’s time for championship action now, as we return back inside the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, N.Y. We hear the theme for Wardlow play and the TNT Champion heads to the ring.
His opponent, Tony Nese, is already in the ring with “Smart” Mark Sterling at ringside in his corner. The bell sounds and we see Wardlow and Nese go face-to-face.
Nese mockingly pushes on Wardlow’s pecs and then Wardlow snaps and starts brawling with “The Premier Athlete.”
Darby Allin Out To Prove He Can Accomplish Things Alone
Darby Allin is shown in a quick backstage promo segment. He talks about his upcoming match in the tournament announced earlier in the show and says he’s not gonna have Sting with him when that time comes. While it would seem obvious by now, he closes by vowing that he will prove he doesn’t need any help getting things done.
AEW Championship Tournament
“Hangman” Adam Page vs. Bryan Danielson
From there, we hear Bryan Danielson’s theme and “The American Dragon” heads to the ring and settles inside. He stares at the AEW Championship placed on a mount outside of the ring as a representation of the title tournament announced earlier in the show.
Now we see him settle inside the ring and his music dies down. Out next is his opponent, “Hangman” Adam Page. A loud “Cowboy sh*t” chant breaks out and spreads throughout the building as he settles inside the ring.
William Regal joins the crew for special guest commentary. The bell sounds and we’re off-and-running with this one. Danielson and Page lock-up and we see Page back Danielson into a corner. He smacks his chest after giving him a clean break.
The two re-engage and the two end up trading chops back-and-forth while Regal and company banter back-and-forth on commentary. The two continue to trade offensive bursts. We see Page dump Danielson out to the floor. He looks to follow him out but ends up getting rammed into the steel ring post arm-first as we head to a mid-match commercial break.
We return from the break to see Danielson still in control of the offense, putting it on “Hangman” with relative ease until the proveyor of “Cowboy Sh*t” starts to fight back. He dumps Danielson out to the floor with a fall-away slam and then dives through the ropes and splashes onto Danielson like some random world-backed onslaught that he didn’t see coming or have any idea about. The rest of the crowd did though!
Page goes for a big slam and tries a pin but only gets two. The commentators plug upcoming shows in Albany, New York and Baltimore, MD. as fans break into dueling chants of “Cowboy sh*t” and a pro-Danielson one as well. We see a shot of Chris Jericho watching on from a monitor backstage as the action continues and Danielson starts to take back over control of the offense.
Danielson starts blasting Page with repeated “Yes!” kicks as the crowd chants along with each one that lands. He winds up and hits a big roundhouse kick to finish off the sequence and then heads to the top-rope. Page pops up to his feet and blasts Danielson just as he reaches the top.
The two trade shots and build-up to a big spot, which sees Page hit a crazy super fall-away slam into a pin attempt. Somehow Danielson kicks out at two. Page heads outside the ropes and looks for a Buckshot Lariat but Danielson sees it coming and rolls out to the floor as we head to another mid-match commercial break.
We return from the break and see these two still going at it. We see some big spots, such as the Dead Eye for a close near-finish attempt. Danielson hits a big running knee for a close near fall of his own and then dives from the ring to the floor. Page ends up catching him and spiking him off the ring apron. He hits a moonsault off the top-rope to the floor and then rolls Danielson into the ring.
He follows in, stopping on the ring apron and going for his Buckshot Lariat finisher but ends up running into a big finish from Danielson for the pin fall victory. With the win, Danielson moves on to face Chris Jericho where the winner moves on to AEW Grand Slam for a shot at the vacant AEW Championship.

Stokely Hathaway & Co. Take Production Assistant And “Knock Him The Hell Out!”
We return from the break and see Stokly Hathaway come out with the men he has recruited over the past several weeks, all of whom helped contribute to MJF winning the Casino Ladder match at ALL OUT. A production assistant interrupts Stokley and he grabs him by the shirt and leads a beatdown.
All the guys, including W. Morrissey and others jump in on. He is left laying and the Chris Tucker (a.k.a. “Smokey”) line from Friday is used to end the segment. “You got knocked the hell out!”
ROH Pure Championship
Wheeler Yuta (C) vs. Daniel Garcia
From there, some matches are announced for this Friday’s AEW Rampage and next week’s AEW Dynamite and then we head back into the KeyBank Center where we get ready for our main event of the evening.
With that said, out comes the challenger, Daniel Garcia, by himself as he was told he would be by Chris Jericho and the Jericho Appreciation Society. He settles into the ring and his music dies down.
Now the theme for the reigning, defending ROH Pure Champion hits and out comes the Blackpool Combat Club (BCC) member for his defense of the title in this week’s post-ALL OUT main event on Dynamite.
The bell sounds and we’re off-and-running with our final match of the evening. We see some back-and-forth action coming out of the gate and we see the action start to get controlled by the challenger, as Garcia is taking it to the ROH Pure Champion with a dominate onslaught. He hits a big back suplex off the top-rope as we head to our final mid-match commercial break of the evening.
When we return from the break, we see some more back-and-forth action until Garcia starts to go on a big offensive run. Things get slowed down when Yuta decks Garcia with a big punch that isn’t allowed in ROH Pure title contests.
The ring announcer mentions Yuta’s first warning. He does the same thing a few moments later and the second announcement warning is made. Garcia and Yuta start to trade submission attempts on the mat and finally we see Yuta tap out. We’ve got a new ROH Pure Champion.

Bryan Danielson Helps Daniel Garcia Celebrate, Chris Jericho Is Shocked
When the match wraps up, we see Garcia presented with the ROH Pure Championship. He celebrates in the ring as the commentators put him over as the new champion, noting he did it on his own without the help of Chris Jericho or the J.A.S. As this continues, we see Bryan Danielson come down to the ring as Garcia and Yuta do their post-match handshake, sticking to the ROH code of honor.
Danielson then takes the title, wraps it around Garcia’s waist and raises his hand. Chris Jericho emerges from the back with a shocked look on his face as Danielson holds Garcia’s hand high in the ring. The commentators talk us off the air and on that note, the show wraps up. Thanks for joining us!
