It seems as though the Santana and Oritz rumorsĀ are accurate. Last week, Santana tweeted the numberĀ of days left on his AEW contract, possibly indicating that he intended to leave the company, as PWMania.com previously reported.
The fact that Santana and Ortiz have been booking themselves separately in singles matches on independent shows recently and haven’t partnered as much this year were more indications of problems between them.
Roby Soho acknowledged Eddie Kingston’s friendship with Ortiz and Jon Moxley during the Blood and Guts video package that aired on AEW Dynamite, but Santana was not addressed.
Konnan was questioned about claims that Santana and Ortiz are no longer close on the most recent “Keepin’ It 100” podcast.
Since Konnan is close to both Santana and Ortiz, his response to the rumors, “They are not on good terms,” essentially confirms everything.
If Santana doesn’t want to sign a new deal with AEW, his involvement in the promotion might be over. He is currently sidelined due to a knee injury sustained during the Blood and Guts battle, and Tony Khan recently revealed a lengthy recovery process on Busted Open Radio.
