As PWMania.com previously reported, Adam Cole has an injury and AEW is letting him to “rest up” until the Forbidden Door pay-per-view event.
Cole was “banged up for quite a while,” according to Fightful Select, but he worked through the pain. Since his feud with Adam Page, Cole has apparently been suffering from a labrum injury. Cole was hurt during his bout against Samoa Joe at the Double or Nothing, according to the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer.
According to Meltzer, the IWGP Championship will be defended by either Kazuchika Okada or Jay White in a Triple Threat match against both Page and Cole at the Forbidden Door PPV. Cole made a promo about wanting the IWGP Title match during the June 8th, 2022 broadcast of Dynamite.
