Are‌ ‌These‌ ‌Stars‌ ‌Coming‌ ‌to‌ ‌WWE?‌ ‌

The WWE seems to be on a hunt for new talent, as big names keep popping up on the wrestling roster. The sport of professional wrestling is getting bigger every year, and more fans are tuning in than ever before. There’s a lot of rumors around who the next big star will be, so here’s a look at some famous names that might be making an appearance in the WWE soon.

Daniel Cormier

There has been a lot of talk about Daniel Cormier and his associations with the WWE. This crossover would be an obvious one. Cormier has gone back and forth with rival Brock Lesnar over the years, and this rivalry was scheduled to be settled in the UFC cage on several occasions. In addition to this, Cormier’s good friend and teammate, Cain Velasquez, is already a part of the WWE roster. Cormier even interviewed for a commentator position with the WWE at one point. For everyone concerned, this seems like a no brainer, but it has yet to be announced.

If Cormier comes to the WWE after his retirement from the UFC, we could be looking at a massive star. As far as athleticism is concerned, Cormier is a decorated athlete with numerous accolades. He is a former olympic level wrestler, multiple weight UFC champion, and he has even won an ESPY for the best MMA fighter. Cormier could have massive star potential and bring a lot of the UFC audience over to WWE.

Rob Gronkowski

Of course, most WWE fans by now have heard the news that Gronkowski is probably becoming a full fledged WWE wrestler. The question now is when, and in what respect. While it seems unlikely that Gronkowski will make a career out of wrestling, we can at least expect him to have some massive main event appearances with a dramatic storyline behind them. While this crossover may not be the most obvious to the fans, for the WWE management, it clearly means big money. Gronkowski is a massive NFL star, and bringing him over to the organization would mean a lot of new eyes on the sport of professional wrestling.

Everything looks like it’s lined up for the future, but apparently Gronkowski has business to finish in the NFL first. Gronkowski has come back to the NFL from retirement, and has 1 year left on his contract. His days with the Patriots may be over, but he has left for Florida to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Presumably, he will have to skip wrestling for now as his NFL contract forbids him from participating in anything that could cause an injury. After his year in Florida is done, we may be seeing him in the WWE.

Paige VanZant

Paige VanZant is known for being the adorable UFC fighter with the skills to back it up. Recently however, it feels as though VanZant is ready to branch out and try some new career paths. She has been leveraging her social media for endorsements and product sales, and claims she makes way more than her UFC salary. Aside from that, she is rumored to be making a stop in Hollywood soon. Now that her contract with the UFC is almost up, is it possible that she will be the latest UFC star to be coming to WWE?

The rumors have been around for a while now. Ronda Rousey paved the way for female UFC stars and considering that she was a big success for the WWE, it’s expected that we see other female MMA fighters cross over to pro wrestling as well. With her contract expiring, Paige is expected to shop around for the best offer. It’s likely that she’ll have a meeting with the WWE execs, and if they beat out competing MMA organizations like One Championship, we could be seeing Paige wrestling soon.

Colby Covington

Colby is another UFC star that has presumably run his course. His feud with the organization is well documented, and Colby is likely ready to jump ship. While it hasn’t been announced yet, he has stated that it could be around the summer of 2021 that he makes his wrestling appearance. Colby is known for being a trash talker on the microphone, so his brash style will fit in well with the WWE atmosphere. He is also a decorated wrestler, meaning he has the skills and athleticism needed to in this physically demanding sport. He has even been practising his Kurt Angle impression, imitating the famous wrestler’s walkout before his last fight with Kamaru Usman at UFC 245.
