Most PW stars are fans of England’s football clubs

Rumours have it that Triple H‘s predilection for West Ham, something that has been going on for years, has something to do with the club’s iron hand when it comes to discipline. Following an incident, with fans invading the pitch during a Premier League match against Burnley, West Ham issued lifetime bans to five of them. The WWE legend has stuck with West Ham through some unlucky seasons, though flirting once with Chelsea.  Feel like following his example and exploring what UK sports can offer? Try your-promotional-code.co.uk and have a look around. Triple H is not the only US glory of wrestling who flirsts with UK soccer. There is one more West Ham fan among famous wrestlers: Seth Rollins. Nearly by chance, as he explained once, since he found the Hammers while playing FIFA 18. Rollins has confessed he fell in love with the club simply because he sucks as a soccer player. For some reason, West Ham got the best out of Seth so he stuck with them.

When it comes to Tottenham Hotspurs, two famous wrestlers fans come immediately to mind. The first being obviously John Cena, who was a special guest at White Hart Lane stadium as far back as 2008, during an annual WWE tour to the United Kingdom. Big John was quite a bit on the media at the time and very enthousiastic about it. He is not the only one. The “stubborn Irishman”, as Finn Bálor dubs himself, confessed he cried from happiness when Tottenham qualified for the Champions League Final last year. The WWE Intercontinental Champion had just defended his title at a live event in Belfast, when he rushed in front on the tv screen, just in time for the historic closing minutes. A few days later in London, Finn took the opportunity of visiting the new North Stand stadium.

Someone plays at home, so to speak. The Geordie NTX former champion, Neville, has loved Newcastle United since he was a kid. No wonder, since ‘the man that gravity forgot’ was born as Benjamin Satterley just in Newcastle Upon Tyne. “Being a Newcastle fan is part of my identity”, he has declared on many occasions. Supporting the club while he globtrots around the world is a must for Neville.

On the other hand, the passion of the readhead Celtic Warrior for Liverpool F.C. is widely known. How comes that Irish-born Sheamus has chosen the other shore? “It’s a Liverpool thing. You wouldn’t understand”, he was twitting to his fans last fall, under a pic of him in front of a tv screen, absorbed in watching a match with his dogs. Red upon red: Sheamus loves to parade with the club colours whenever he can, especially when he is on WWEs European tours.

The first African to become a WWE champion, Ghanaian Kofi Kingston, has chosen Chelsea as his heart’s football club. He spoke about that for the media while on tour in the UK. The club is fond of having Ghanaian players in its ranks, most notably but not exclusively Michael Essien. Fans of European football are abundant in Ghana, so Kofi is no exception despite having made a life and career far from home.
