Former WWE writer and Lucha Underground producer Chris DeJoseph was critical of the AEW All Out PPV:
@AEWrestling’s #AllOut was ok. IMO. They need their characters that connect to the audience, but tonight I learned nothing about the featured characters. Make me care! Btw much love to the @MrGMSI_BCage Vignette impression. Solid. Run with it. Do more.

I’ve taken a lot of flak for my unfavorable option of last night’s @AEWrestling show. I want them to succeed. But that show lacked story. And if you want the “average” fan to be invested, if you want to gain an audience, story trumps all, and that was severely lacking.

The story of Spears vs Rhodes never got personal. If you are super fan and watched their matches in OVW you might be clued in. But to the average kid that hasn’t watched religiously in the past 15 years, no one got it.

Also the production was horrid. Showed production cleaning the ring & could’ve cut to a pretape of Ambrose pissed he couldn’t wrestle, explained the Cody story more, instead they missed opportunities. Wrestling was great but you could tell that even the commentary wasn’t pleased.

@WWENXT IMO will Cush them if they don’t change things up. @AEWonTNT should be terrified. Make me care.

I have no agenda. I’m not a wrestling writer who can only work in wrestling. I’m a fan and I want to be invested. https://t.co/ObznTXMG0I

Like I talked to @wwe peeps today and @AEWrestling isn’t even on their radar. And especially so after last night. Sorry not sorry.
— Chris DJ DeJoseph (@chrisdejoseph) September 2, 2019
Sorry again but @wwe are laughing. @JRsBBQ looked like he wanted to hide last night.

@CodyRhodes was basically @TripleH. But a shit verision. And I am not a @wwe defender.
