Thirty male Superstars from Raw and SmackDown LIVE will fight for a title match opportunity when the 2019 Men’s Royal Rumble Match takes place tomorrow night at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona. The winner of the massive melee will go on to challenge for either the Universal Championship or WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35.
The Men’s Royal Rumble Match should include some surprises since there are 10 open spots remaining. According to a report by PWInsider.com’s Mike Johnson on Friday, WWE has booked Hornswoggle as a surprise entrant for the Men’s Royal Rumble Match.
On Thursday, Mike Johnson joked about the possibility of Hornswoggle being called in to be a surprise at the Royal Rumble. He was then told yesterday that the former WWE Superstar is scheduled to appear in the match.
“Then last night I got a call from someone who told me that I was actually right and that, as far as they knew, Hornswoggle was booked for the Royal Rumble,” Johnson said.
“So, spoiler warning obviously, it appears Hornswoggle will be there this Sunday. I don’t know that he’s coming back to the company. I would assume it’s just some sort of surprise but I was told that there were plans for a Hornswoggle cameo at the Royal Rumble.”
According to a tweet from WrestleVotes on Friday, there has also been talk of Bray Wyatt, Kurt Angle, and Velveteen Dream showing up as surprises.
On the way to PHX for the Rumble! A few names I keep hearing about showing up on Sunday as surprises: Kurt Angle, Bray Wyatt & Velveteen Dream. Nothing set, but those names have been coming up in conversations for the past few weeks. We shall see.
