‘NWA 76’ Crowns No. 1 Contender to World Junior Heavyweight Title
NWA 76 sees two of the world’s best under 225-lbs. battle for a shot at National Wrestling Alliance gold! Alex Misery meets Jack Cartwheel to become No. 1 contender to the NWA World’s Junior Heavyweight title August 31 in Philadelphia.
“Jack Cartwheel and Alex Misery are two of the most exciting high-flyers in pro wrestling today,” says Joe Galli, NWA’s Chief Operating Officer.
Regularly featured on episodes of NWA Powerrr, the company’s flagship Tuesday broadcast, Misery has turned in multiple memorable moments. With seemingly no fear for his own well-being, he’s prone to leap with reckless abandon from any structure he can climb.
More calculated, Cartwheel is an international sensation who wowed audiences a year ago at NWA 75. An acrobatic aerial assassin, he’s worked for most major wrestling companies in the United States and made repeat appearances with Mexico’s Lucha Libra AAA Worldwide. More than living up to his name, Cartwheel is a consistent crowd favorite.
“Both exemplify the National Wrestling Alliance’s long history of showcasing the world’s best junior heavyweights,” Galli continues. “With the winner guaranteed a future NWA World’s Junior Heavyweight championship, I expect both of these ‘human highlight reels’ to pull out all stops. This match is not to be missed!”
Also on the card, The King Bees defend the NWA Women’s World tag titles against Ella Envy and Miss Starr, The IT Girls. Additionally, NWA 76 sees a fatal four-way for the U.S. tag titles, the fourth-annual Burke Invitational Gauntlet, and a battle between Crockett Cup champs is also confirmed, as 2024 winners Alex Taylor and Kerry Morton of The Southern Six face Knox & Murdoch, who won the coveted trophy in 2023.
NWA 76 brings hard-hitting pro wrestling action to Philly’s legendary 2300 Arena on August 31. The National Wrestling Alliance commemorates “History, Legacy and Tradition” with its biggest Signature Live Event of the year, an affordable, family-friendly celebration of its founding in 1948.
